Speaking on comic book death, I will say The Thing's death during Mark Waid's run a few years back was extremely well done. Reed was stupid and didn't think through the consequences of something and Ben ended up dead. Reed became a broken man after this and found a way to travel to the afterlife and bring him back. The stand in for God was made out to be Jack Kirby and it was a really beautiful story overall. That is the only death that I found to be any good at all in recent memory.

I laughed to myself tonight when I saw the issue was black polybagged with a big FF3 logo on it in a similar manner to the Death of Superman issue.

Although I am glad to see that no one is trying or yet getting some crazy price on Ebay for the issue yet. The variant cover is fetching about $50-60 though.
