Xindi Logo question

In many S3 episodes, there is a recurent Xindi logo with several permutations. In the center of this logo is an irregular six-pointed star. I assume that this refers to the six Xindi subspecies, but I am just guessing. Does anybody know if this is intentional or just co-incidence, or am I just studying my screencaps too closely?

The logo can be seen on many Xindi control panels, as well as on Gralik's Xindi Mining Corporation uniform shoulder patch in "The Shipment."

This one although from Memory Alpha, seems to be from a German text entry only. Couldn't find it anywhere else.

Yes, well done! That is one permutation. I am talking about the star in the very center of the logo you posted, although it does seem to go with the six symbols in the image you posted.
Somebody was thinking! Here is another that is very similar to the Xindi Mining Corp shoulder patch:

Nice. Though the logo never stood out for me. The German text just says that it is the symbol for the Xindi council, probably symbolizing the six different species. It is also said that it was really hard to identify on-screen. So it may not be 100 % perfect ...

Actually, that symbol has been seen on Star Trek prior to being the Xindi symbol, I´ve seen it several times on props.

It's canon now as it is all over season 3. I would be interested to know if this had ever been seen in trek prior to this, as someone suggested, as I do not recall seeing this previously. Details?

There are at least two patterns that look deceptively like it from a distance: an "eight-pointed star" marking that is applied on various Federation items from ST2 onwards, and a Cardassian roundel that appears on many cargo containers in DS9. Since Cardassian graphics have a dots-connected-by-straight-lines motif that is very similar to the Xindi writing, I think the poster actually referred to these Cardassian labels...

I'm mildly shocked not just that I never noticed the symbol before -- third season of Enterprise had the sets lit only by Inidglo watches, so pretty near nothing was visible -- but that so far as I remember it hasn't been mentioned in the three years I've been here. It's like discovering they actually made a Next Generation movie between First Contact and Nemesis or something like that.
