Xbox 360 Dashboard Update video

I knew when MS launched the avatars and they were banging on about not charging for clothing and accessories they would no way keep to that stance...
 
I almost can't believe what I'm watching. As if anyone would buy clothes for an avatar.
 
Trust me. Slap some Halo or Gears stuff on there and people certainly would. :lol:

I would be almost tempted to buy some Mass Effect armor... not enough to actually do it of course.
 
i think the clothing is too expensive... if it were under 10 points, i'd actually think about picking stuff up (same with themes and pics). for 1 point i'd probably actually end up buying a couple things just to check it out, or burn off excess points.
 
Asking a buck for virtual pants is sort of idiotic. But then again, people are buying houses in Home, so I guess there are suckers everywhere. :lol:
 
Haven't people who play role playing games been doing this for a while? I know it goes back to at least StarWars Galaxies, I'm sure it goes back further.

They should go all out, make little houses for the avatars, stores, hang out places...
 
Doing it for an RPG that you've invested time and effort into is one thing, but doing it for a ridiculous avatar that serves no purpose other than to be a basic representation of you, is just stupid.

80 points for a t-shirt?
160 points for a pair of boots?

Ridiculous.

While I will agree with the whole B.S. with the Avatars there was more in the vid than just that. ;)
I'm looking forward to the Netflix stuff myself.
 
That new Netflix functionality is pretty cool. I already use my 360 to watch Netflix stuff, and this will make it far easier.
 
Problem is that all the other updates are good only for Americans only.

So for the rest of us, it's all just marketing and advertising. Of course, the only thing I care about is the fact that the dash is so god damned slow. I don't even use it anymore because pressing the guide button locks up your system for 30 seconds.

And the problem is? We are the only ones that are important. :lol: JK

The fall update will include Sky for international and I have to say, I'm Jelly-ous.
 
So, dicking around with it a bit and it seems faster. I don't know if that's because it's "preview" so I'm on some kind of special server, but for the first time in a while the dashboard and marketplace are actually usable.

Almost, most shirts are like 2 bucks... and to make an outfit, you'll spend probably 10 bucks - especially if you buy the Halo warthog for 320 points. :p
