X-MEN: FIRST CLASS (Casting, Rumors, Pics till release)

Guys, I think we've pretty much done this in relation to the costumes:

:)

Well with the release of the movie coming in 2 months, there probably wont be any "news" per se, but a huge ramp up in promotional stuff. Carry on, I guess.

Bring on more costume discussion!

I wonder if we'll get sentinels (finally?) in the sequel if it gets made. They were considered for the first two, and of course we sort of had them in the Danger Room sequence in X3, but we've never seen a decent attempt yet in the films.

Sentinels of course might look silly in their classic giant and purple 60's look, but being robots they should be easier to realize than say, Galactus. Perhaps something between the classic look and the more bug-like modern sentinels.

Here's what he looks like in his current videogame form in Marvel VS Capcom 3:

Just give him alot of moving parts like in Transformers.

Sentinels couldn't look much sillier than Transformers, and they pulled those off in live action.
Maybe but seeing how X-Men is semi real world believable, how would they get past the issue about it being unconstitutional to hunt down civilians?
They got around the issue of the cure by making it voluntary to the public. Too fathom the idea of the creation of machines to hunt people, Magneto would have to do his shifting the world axis scenario.

Think Japanese internment camps, material witness detentions, or even extraordinary rendition.

Indeed, it's not like this sort of thing doesn't happen every day in real life, and we do it to people who can't walk through walls, read minds, or blow things up with the wave of a hand.

If they did go with a Project Wide Awake scenario in this trilogy, I guess it would have to be an alternate history (duh) built on events passed the Cuban Missile Crisis and whatever happens in this film which exposes the existence of mutants to the public, thus causing mass hysteria and the creation of the Sentinels. Although, we would then get some primitive looking sentinels based on 60's/70's technology. Main reason why I think it would work better in X4 because after the events of X3, I'm sure a similar plot involving mutant hunting machines could be used. Bastion sans Nimrod as well.

To use Bastion, they would probably have to drop the whole Master Mold/Nimrod/Siege Perilous angle, which would make him an entirely different character.

They could just make him a cybernetically-enhanced badass bureaucrat, though.

As everyone knows Project Wide Awake was shown in the datafile that Mystique downloaded from Stryker's computer. I doubt that we would see them until an X4.

Concerning more news...I don't know how much more news from the film will be coming. We're a month and a half or so away from release. I guess we could continue to post posters and interviews. I doubt that we'd get anything significant.

Understood.
However from First Class to X3, there still is no such thing as Sentinels. So with that said, things as of yet haven't escalated between humans & mutants to warrant their creation.

.
...or a Cable/X-Force movie.

It's First Class.
Jean & Scott haven't met yet.
There's nothing saying that didn't have a child before Wolvie & Rogue showed up.;)
Maybe not publicly, but some crazy mutant-hating billionaire might be making them on his own.
If we wanna go outside X-Men mythos......
I'll send all the fanboy mail complaining about how wrong that was too you.:p:lol:

Scott and Jean are probably not even born at the time of this movie since it takes place in 1962. From their ages in the first "X-Men" movie I would assume they're not born until sometime in the mid 70's. They both looked like they were in their late twenties/early thirties.

The point about Mutant/Human relations not escalating to the point of requiring a measure like Project WideAwake is sound and what I forgot to add in my post. I don't really see the government or military sanctioning something like that in the First Class prequel (Or potential sequels). I think the file was meant to imply that it was a future consideration. After the events of "Last Stand" (If X4 chooses to recognize them) it would be more logical to green lighting a tactic like that. Especially after what Magneto did to the bridge and all.
