X-MEN: Days Of Future Past (Casting, Rumors, Pics till release)

I don't think they're as convincing as, say Quinto and Nimoy or McGregor and Guinness but I think McEvoy makes a better Young Stewart than Tom Hardy.

Having said that, McAvoy hasn't had to share screen time with Stewart yet, so it's possible I'll change my mind after I see DOFP.

Sorry if this has been raised before (I haven't read 80+ pages of this thread) but wasn't Bolivar Trask in Last Stand ?

If I recall correctly, he looked about as different to Peter Dinklage as is humanly possible...

IIRC, there was a character simply named "Trask", with no first name given. X3 did a lot of that--"lets just give this character this name", even though the movie character and comic character bear no resemblance to one another."

Its a funny explanation!

But this is the one duplicate character that does need to be explained at all though. We never heard his first name. Other than being called "Trask" they have nothing in common. Not just their ethnicities their jobs functions in the stories.

So with Quicksilver in X-Men and Avengers, how long until a crossover?

I don't have TLS stand on disk. As I recall, in the movie, the character was only called Trask. I don't remember if the end credits used the name Bolivar at all.

According to IMDB, the character is simply "Trask".

And Marvel Studios have already cast their own Quicksilver.

I still think its a little surprising that Aaron Taylor-Johnson is Quicksilver in the Avengers, rather than this - there's the Matthew Vaughn/Jane Goldman/Mark Millar connection.
Evan Peters has the same connections you mentioned.

Wow, until you mentioned that, prompting me to go look at IMDB, I hadn't realised (or had forgotten) that Peters was also in Kick-Ass.

I think Evan Peters is more suited for the role of Quicksilver than Aaron Johnson.

I think he resembles the comic-book character more (and in a recent interview said his hair will be silver) but I'm sure Johnson will be perfectly suitable.

It'll be really interesting to see how Singer approaches the character and how Whedon approaches the character.

I am more interested in Quicksilver in X-Men. Because he started out with there. It will add to Magneto's character to see his son. Plus most of the original villains and heroes from the 60s and 70s were introduced in the existing films in which take place much later. He is one of the few untouched characters they can introduce in the past.

I'm interested in both versions, and I definitely see Pietro in Aaron Johnson. From the little that Johnson has stated about his version, it seems Joss is pulling from the Ultimate version of the characters in order to separate the two.
