X-Men: Complete Seasons 1 & 2 Box Set

Really pisses me off. I order this almost a week ago and they say there is a two week delay, what the hell?! It still says it is available on the 17th, and that was yesterday

Are there any actual DVD players (rather than just playing it on your computer) that are region-free? Or, do Region 2 DVD players work with American TV's? I've been considering for a while doing something like that, specifically because of this series and a couple other things that are Region 2 only, but I don't want to spend a whole lot.

They make Region-Free players, but you usually have to do some hunting. I don't think they're legally allowed to sell them in stores.

I had to buy mine online from halfway around the world.

I don't think that's true, a ton of players are technically region-free, most people just don't know it, because it's not in the manual.

Videohelp has instructions for a ton of players, you can just change the region code or make it region-free with your remote. You could have just bought one in a store or over amazon, there's no need for hunting.;)

Well, you're still not SUPPOSED to do that.

And I bought mine many years ago. It's actually on the verge of death.

I really don't care what I'm supposed to do, it's not illegal to change the region code or to import dvds from other regions. The industry wants the people to think that they are bound by the region restrictions, but that's obviously bullshit. I own dvds from regions 1, 2 and 4 and I'm really happy, take Baywatch for example (yeah, I like it, sue me ;) ), the only release worldwide, that's complete and uncut and features the original music is the german one, are fans from region 1 supposed to buy the crap that was released in america?

Sh*t! I did not know about that site, I recently bought a regionless dvd player for $33, but with shipping and handling it was a total of $52. Well, I just looked up my region 1 player number on that site, there is not code for it, so I guess it does not matter. Still, I do not want a lot of dvd players, now I have two, it takes up space, especially with the Xbox there too and playstation. My order for the X-men series has still not been sent out, what the fu**??!!

I would tend to agree that it's pretty annoying when a series gets a decent release in other regions except here in region 1 where it's from originally, especially if it's one of your favorites as kid which you'd buy a legal copy of in a heartbeat. :brickwall:

Then its up to you to buy a region free-DVD player, or better yet, learn about the codes that allow you to circumvent the region coding on your DVD player, or just buy the DVD set and play it on your computer (hook it up to your TV set, put the DVD in, and watch[make sure you have a new TV set with the computer monitor hook-up].)

Even better, write to your congressman/woman and tell them how tired you are of this bullshit (and by that I mean this
In cases like this where it's unclear who has the rights to a series, there ought to be a process in place where the company with possession of the film or video masters can challenge the potential rights holder to come forward within 90 days with proof or allow them to produce DVDs..
), and that you'd like it to end. You've got Barack Obama (the so-called harbinger of 'hope') in power, so tell him to get off his ass and make it happen.
