X-Men: Complete Seasons 1 & 2 Box Set

In cases like this where it's unclear who has the rights to a series, there ought to be a process in place where the company with possession of the film or video masters can challenge the potential rights holder to come forward within 90 days with proof or allow them to produce DVDs. It doesn't make any sense for good product to be withheld from the marketplace due to sheer ignorance.

What's strange is that I thought I saw every episode of this series, but last night I caught one I don't remember seeing, where Storm is gonna marry some alien dictator who looks like cross between Thor and Conan.

^ That's a 2-parter from the last season (6)
Which is pretty bad IMO. The last ever episode is terrible, far worse than the likes of "These Are The Voyages..."

One would think, wouldn't one...

I suspect the problem lies in Marvel's "everything STARTED in 2001" approach to their franchises these days...

That's a bootleg.

And your point being? Either you want the show on DVD or not.
I'm pretty sure we're not allowed to post links to bootlegs on this message board.

You're absolutely right.

Posting links to illegal copies of copyrighted material is against board rules, and can result in warnings. I'm cranky this morning, and I'm going to be a little bit crankier because now I have to edit out all those links, but I'll skip the warning this time.

I would tend to agree that it's pretty annoying when a series gets a decent release in other regions except here in region 1 where it's from originally, especially if it's one of your favorites as kid which you'd buy a legal copy of in a heartbeat. :brickwall:

Come on, the Canonball ep. & the origin of Mr. Sinister were cool. Plus the ending wrapped up the show way better than..........how can you even compare a cartoon made for kids to ENT., anyway?

Well its been a few years since I watched the final series, I remember thinking it was pants anyway. Mainly in part due to the different animation style than the previous seasons, and there was that Jubilee episode with the kids in the cave. Gods that was awful

I just remember being confused as hell when the episode was over.

Don't a lot of them die or something?

The last one? It's been years since I saw it but it was weird. It had that mutant hater guy (can't remember his name off hand) uncovering to the world that Xavier was a mutant... which I thought was weird because I always thought everyone knew that anyway. The leader of a bunch of superpowered mutants is also a mutant himself? wow, big surprise

Xavier has some disease which is killing him, while Magento goes mental and gathers up 100s of mutants to go on a massive offensive against the humans. The X-Men get Magneto to come with them to the Mansion as the dying Xavier says goodbye one by one to them. Then Lilandra shows up and says "yeah we can cure him but he has to come and live with us forever", then they both fuck off to the Shiar empire, waving goodbye to the X-Men. The end.

I remember thinking: :wtf: :wtf: That was it? What the hell happened to the massive war that was about to break out?

Pretty lame, it should have just ended with Season 5 and the awesome Apocalypse 4-parter

^I don't remember any of that, except the Xavier dying part.

I just remember thinking it was really bizarre and being really disappointed.

Actually according to Wiki the last season was 5, and the Apocalypse ones were part of Season 4. My mistake

One of the last 6 episodes (animated by Saban, since the previous animation stuido went bankrupt) brought Apocalypse back for no good reason, since they knew the series was ending.

Based on wikipedia's entry, I think what happened was the series was to end with with multi-parter, then they ordered more episodes "at the last minute"...so the stories feel random or tacked-on.

Once they reach like 65 episodes, that's enough for a daily syndication package. And children's programming is something that doesn't get the ratings or feedback to keep making forever...except Power Rangers, and that reinvents itself every year, doesn't it.

Fox was at least better about ordering a full 13 episodes per season for its Saturday morning cartoons, as opposed to SPIDERMAN AND HIS AMAZING FRIENDS which ran 3 seasons (then 2 in repeats) but only has 24 episodes.

Does anyone know where I can get this in Region 1? I know most places only sell it as region 2, but I was wondering if it was possible to get it in region 1 anywhere. I do not want to bother with a region free dvd player seeing as I have recently purchased a dvd player earlier this year, so it is new.
Is this actually being released on the 17th? Most places say the 17th, but this site says the 24th
