I'd say the F-35 would have a slight advantage in that it could carry weapons (I think it's cleared for the internal cannon and Sidewinder now) while the X-32 would be inherently unarmed...
Assuming both were operational armed aircraft there would be very little between them. It would depend on the skills of the pilot and conditions of the engagement.
The F-35 was marginally ahead in most trials and therefore won the contest, but it was very close, there would be no advantages clear enough to give a decisive advantage in an (unlikely) one-on-one close range engagement.
