wwe vs tnt anyone watching?

The Rock will team with John Cena at Survivor Series

I was expecting something along the lines of The Rock wrestling prior to Wrestlemania. I guess it makes sense to have Cena and Rock on the same team to generate PPV buys. Hopefully it will be done in a way to further their fued and not just as a money making one off.

I'm not sure how having the Rock and Cena team up makes any sense. MAYBE as a temporary "the enemy of my enemy is my ally" type deal but they'll have a heck of a time explaining that unless things completely implode between them during/after the match but I don't see that happening either considering the WWE won't turn Cena heel and will have a rather difficult time making the Rock heel for Wrestlemania in Miami.

I bet he doesn't miss taking the bumps.

True that.

Also, life is so much easier when you're an 'big Hollywood actor'.
  • Far more people line up to kiss your ass.
  • Stuntmen.
  • People call you up just to kiss your ass.
  • You have personal assistants to deal with the stuff you don't want to.
  • You get meetings in which people are paid to kiss your ass.
  • Not that Dwane need a bodyguard, he has them.
  • They kiss his ass.
Did I mention theres a bit of ass-kissing in Hollywood?

In the UK, we have a magazine called "Power Slam" which is the definitive non-kayfabe monthly. In the latest issue (which I picked up today) I found that finally a reputable insider commentator/source has decided to disregard both Mysterio and Cena's WWE Championship reigns during the period in which CM Punk was champion.

Power Slam have justified this by noting that Punk did not lose the belt during the period that Mysterio and Cena held the other belt. From this they've determined that it was simply a mock title designed for two reasons (which I've thought since day one)... The first of which is to give a reason for a Punk vs Cena rematch, the second was done to make sure that WWE would have a "champion" whilst the real champion (Punk) was on leave for a couple of weeks.

What that tells me is that WWE still treasures the WWE Championship (and it's champion) more than it cares to let on and regardless of whoever they have on the roster who will sell out arenas, attract viewers and PPV buys, they simply cannot be without their "champion" for more than a few days at most (from 1999 onwards, the WWE Championship has not once been vacant for more than 7 days, likewise if a champion is injured or on leave, the belt is vacated and placed on someone almost immediately.

Well it's official!

The Rock will be wrestling at Survivor Series in the traditional 5 vs 5 elimination match. John Cena will also be a part of it, although WWE hasn't mentioned in the report, exactly Cena's role. This means he could be on the other team.

The Miz & R-Truth are my favorites right now...really can't get excited about anyone else...except Kelly Kelly :adore: ;)

I actually like Del Rio...but I don't like Cena gunning for the title. :sigh:

@Sheep...WWE has always had a face/heel tag team as part of a program. It's part of the mentality of "will they or won't they get along?" it's also a means of building up more heat for their stupid match.

Here are my Night of Champions predictions. So here goes:

Alberto Del Rio (c) Vs John Cena for the WWE Championship: I can see this going both ways but if WWE wants to make Del Rio strong they will have him keep the belt until at least Survivor Series. So I'm gonna say Del Rio.

CM Punk Vs Triple H (If Punk wins Trips has to resign as COO, NO DQ). I am going to see Triple H wins this and there are a couple of run ins. A sledgehammer will probably be used as well. Don't be shocked if we see John L get involved somehow and I mark out at the end if we hear that sweet sweet music at the end of this...and possibly some spray paint of some kind. :) This story line will continue for a long time. Possibly even to Wrestlemania.

Beth is going to finally take the title off of Kelly Kelly, and the latter will probably be given a beat down by the Divas of Doom. Natalya will probably interfere.

The Miz Truth will become your new WWE Tag Team Champions...or if they lose it will just further their conspiracy angle. Either it will be AWESOME and someone's gonna get GOT!! (See what I did there? This stuff writes it's self!)

John Morrison will win the Fatal Four Way.

Orton will squash Henry in an boring match.

I'm probably missing a couple more but I've taken all of these matches from the Wikipedia article.

I'm going to give basic predictions, because I have no idea how NOC will play out!

Alberto Del Rio (c) vs John Cena
CM Punk vs Triple H
Kelly Kelly (c) vs Beth Phoenix (new Divas Champion)
The Miz and R-Truth vs Air Boom (c)
Dolph Ziggler (c) vs Jack Swagger vs Alex Riley vs John Morrison (new United States Champion)
Mark Henry vs Randy Orton (c)
Ted Dibiase vs Cody Rhodes (c)

I expect the CM Punk vs Triple H match will not have a clean finish should Triple H be booked as the winner. You'd have to be completely insane to book Triple H over CM Punk clean and therefore destroy the momentum of the hottest star in the WWE.

^ Insane or not paying attention to the program at the very least. I agree, whatever happens it won't be a clean finish even with the NO DQ stip (which we know from watching Botchamania pretty much means nothing lol). Punk is getting screwed over again. I'd be SHOCKED if Punk wins clean.

my predictions for night of champions are:

alberto del rio retains his title
beth pheonix new diva champion
air boom will retain there titles to continue the conspiracy theory.
jack swagger wins the united states title
mark henry wins his first championship
ted dibiase wins the intercontinental title
and finally

triple HHH wins over Cm punk <(but I see john L interfearing somehow on punks behalf)

^ Why would John L interfere ON Punk's behalf? They've spent the last month and a half implying that he's been screwing him. Even going behind Trips back and undermining his authority. That would be a bizarre turn of events, even as a swerve.

WCW Russo booking!

One thing I've noticed recently and it's a good thing, is wrestlers are starting to look more "realistic". Obviously a great number of WWE employees are steroid free with the Wellness Policy being an effective deterrant. Whilst I can't say for certain who is taking steroids, I can give you a few people who aren't.

CM Punk - This is a given since it goes against his way of life.
Randy Orton - Following his wellness policy violation in 2007, he steadily lost muscle mass as a result of steroid cessation.
The Big Show - Doesn't need to take steroids, his natural frame is the "WWE look".
The Great Khali - For the same reasons as The Big Show.
Daniel Bryan - His body frame and toned muscular structure are inconsistent with someone taking steroids.
William Regal - Steadily lost muscle mass following his second wellness violation.

Yeah I did enjoy Punk's pipebomb rant about how WWE/Vince only likes a certain look and then Trips counter argument against that. Nicely done boys.

I've been thinking about the largest wrestlers who have performed highly athletic arial moves. The largest I've seen/heard of are as follows...

450 Splash: Scott Steiner (6,3/250 lbs)
Shooting Star Press: Brock Lesnar (6,3/280lbs)
Moonsault: Vader (6,5/450lbs)
Swanton Bomb: Sean O'Haire (6,6/270lbs)
Missile Dropkick: The Giant/Big Show (7,1/480lbs)
Tope Atomico: The Undertaker (6,10/299lbs)
Diving Moonsault Slam: Kaz (6,1/215lbs)

I'd like to see them team. It would keep them from wrestling each other (obviously, and if the match itself is executed properly it could add some further depth to their WM showdown.

Not sure how to predict NoC tonight. It's a pretty solid card.
