wwe vs tnt anyone watching?

I am waiting to see if alberto del rio capitilize on this match like he tried to in the begining of raw. and what they could'nt find anybody to wrestle zack so they had to put michael come on. really, really.

I like both guys but I am going with rey mysterio on this it's too early for john to get his title back.

well you did'nt have to wait long did you.

I SO knew they were gonna do that. As soon as Cena shook Rey's hand in the back I thought to myself Rao, he's gonna gain "his" title back! Grrrrrr. The only salvation I have is for a unification title match at Summer Slam or Survivor Series. It would be interesting if they made it for SS seeing as how the Rock keeps hinting (basically confirming with that last tweet that he would be there) and have Rock interfere costing Cena "his" title and Punk being the Undisputed WWE Champion. That would be the smart thing to do in my opinion.

Also find it interesting that WWE.com had the Punk footage on their website. If he truly wasn't resigned they wouldn't even think about doing that. This is all just one big clever work.

EDIT: I just saw the still of Punk posing with his Title in front of Cena!

I will watch RAW later but yeah I suspected Cena to get it back.

[edit] I saw that too.

Punk's new Cult of Personality entrance was pretty badass.

Did Cena start walking away too early while the cameras were still rolling? Doing so just made him look like a complete chump compared to the reaction Punk got.

I think he walked away exactly when he should have and if he got heel reaction for doing so that's fine, that's probably what creative wants anyways. As has been stated earlier in the thread by Captain M they are very much going for the anti-hero/Stone Cold vibe for Punk here. They know he's over no matter what he does and Cena divides the fan base for whatever he does anyway so I don't think it's a big deal.

I agree, Punk's new Cult of Personality theme is awesome.

After watching it that whole thing with Punk was pretty fantastic.

[edit] I heard 2 titles 1 Match at Summer Slam...I wonder if ADR can cash it in on both Punk and Cena? It is going to be fun. Punk saved that RAW from sucking...with Cena winning again.

Well officially Cena is recognised as the WWE Champion. I thought the way things went down last night was horrible, Rey Mysterio barely got a look in. It seemed too much effort just to get the belt back on Cena, what should have happened is Triple H should have added Cena into the Miz vs Mysterio match as his "rematch clause" (from losing the title to Punk). You then have Cena face someone later in the evening as his first title defence and after the match (in which Cena retains) Punk makes his entrance as it happened.

I do think the two belts is a bit overkill, I was hoping they would debut a new belt or at least a variation of the spinner. The fact is, there is only supposed to be one belt despite us all knowing they have multiple replicas to be used as and when required.

I thought the stare off between Cena and Punk was excellent, along with Punk using "Cult Of Personality" as his entrance theme. Hopefully this will continue (even though I'm a fan of Killswitch Engage) as its much better fitting to his current character. I think its safe to say that Punk is now a full blown face, akin to Steve Austin circa 1998. I'm really pleased with how this storyline has turned out, I just hope it continues properly and that Punk wins the title back (because Cena will probably go over at Summerslam) at some point.

Hmmm. If they're smart...and sometimes I question if they really know what fans want to see at times (we know they don't or just simply refuse to give us what we want for whatever reason) they will have a Unification Title match at Survivor Series with Punk capturing both belts.

Summer Slam I could see them having two separate Championship matches. With Cena winning whoever he faces and Punk winning in his match. Maybe they won't do this and just keep Punk as a "faux" champion. If you are a mark watching this you would probably recognize Punk as WWE Champion (as you should ;) ) and Cena is a mere pretender champion propped up by the company who doesn't want Punk as their champion. I dunno. I'm rambling here. Like I said last week, this storyline has literally oodles of potential and could delve off into so many different branches if they continue to execute it properly.

The wild card in all this is Del Rio with his Money in the Bank Briefcase.

Yeah entirely agree, the Survivor Series unification match would make the most sense, given that The Rock is going to be there (costing Cena the championship would help put their feud back into play).

I see Del Rio holding on to the briefcase for quite a while, given his enthusiasm to cash in at nearly every opportunity recently, it would serve as a heat building device to have him continually come out and make out that he's going to cash in, only to leave.

If they want to keep Cena strong, the Summerslam match will serve as the rubber match, perhaps it will be for Cena's WWE Championship and Cena will win, albeit in a non decisive manner. Punk would then go over in the unification match (He will still claim to be WWE Champion and the belt that Cena has is a fake manufactured because Punk had the balls to leave as champion) which would feature The Rock costing Cena the championship, but at the same time The Rock would lay out Punk as a "You all forgot about me" angle.

last night was awesome and I love the cult of personality song for cm punk.
now we have two champions or what?! I feel for rey he got screwed royally
I thought.

Yeah I could see them playing up Del Rio continuing to try to cash in his briefcase only for it to back fire in some kind of way, comedic or otherwise. It would get frustrating for marks and amusing for the rest of us :)

Yes timothy we have two WWE Champions.

It could be a massive mess...

Punk and Cena are ready to go in a match for the WWE Championship, then Rey Mysterio comes out and demands his rematch, so he's entered into the match making it a triple threat. Punk wins the match but then Del Rio comes out and cashes in, successfully winning the title, but before he gets a chance to leave, Cena demands that he gets his rematch right there and then and wins the WWE Championship from Del Rio before Punk also demands a rematch and wins the WWE Championship by pinning Cena.

Punk then leaves after winning the title, losing it and winning it after its changed hands an additional time.

To be fair WWE have done similar. At Extreme Rules 09, they had Jeff Hardy beat Edge to win the WHC, before CM Punk came out and cashed in a couple of minutes later. But WCW were the worst offenders of rapid title changes. In 2000, Jeff Jarret won and lost the WCW title 4 times in the space of a month!

WWE though hold the record with the Hardcore Championship. It changed hands more than 10 times in one night on quite a few occasions.

Now, Now Captain M, if you always expect the worst, you'll never be disappointed.

I have to admit I completely marked out when 'Cult of Personality' started playing, I knew it could only be one man. WWE hasn't done a proper 'disputed championship' storyline in years (Wrestlemania 10 anyone?), and I think they are really doing fantastic work with this one. WWE Creative (Thats right, I called them "creative") is using social media to their advantage in way not done before.

Rey Mysterio demanding his rematch last minute is way out of character for him, its not going to happen. We have a couple weeks before the ppv, I'm guessing Rey will get his rematch sooner rather than later.

I'm not saying that the WWE has a clean record when it comes to shenanigans, my post was much more a sarcastic shot at Impact Wrestling than any serious diss lol.

I agree, WWE has a tendancy to treat their titles with slightly more respect than WCW or Impact does historically...

Speaking of...

I was recently watching the 'Rise and Fall of WCW' and a quote caught my attention: "Jeff Jarrett broke thousands of guitars a year and never drew a dime for the company."

I don't really blame Jarrett for that. WCW was pretty far in the whole by the time they put the belt on him, and things like David Arquette winning the title didn't help matters either. There wasn't a whole lot WCW could do to turn the tide by the end of 99.

Fantastic RAW last night. I knew Cena was going to win the belt back somehow, so it didn't bother me a whole lot when it went down. It would have been nice to wait a week or something, I suppose, but whatever gets us to that Cena-Punk showdown is fine by me.

I'm wondering vaguely if WM in 2012 is going to be Punk/Triple H for the title. I wouldn't be shocked. They certainly seem to be planting the seeds of such a possibility now.

Good to see J.R. return. That should be a fantastic dynamic with him/Lawler/Cole. Ross has always been at his best when he's juggling calling a match while telling someone to shut the hell up. I just hope his health is in good shape.

A cruiserweight list, eh?

I'm not going to go through the decades for that, but I'll definitely think about it.

Trips has said he is pretty much done wrestling right now and will only do if asked (much like his Wrestlemania match against the Undertaker when they couldn't sign Sting). So I very much doubt we will see him in any key title match...but then again the Rock is in the main event right ;) So who knows.
