wwe vs tnt anyone watching?

^ ^Exactly why they were pushing the WWE Title and why even Booker made his comment. The WWE Title is considered the old WWF World Heavyweight Championship and has an unbroken line that I believe starts with Bruno?? Captain M or someone else can correct me.

I have told you guys that I think Sin Cara has been mismanaged from the start. This is too bad maybe if he comes back from his wellness policy violation they'll actually use him properly this time.

According to the Torch Raw will open with Vince addressing what happened last night and Cena's status.

Yeah the WWE Championship started in 1963 with Buddy Rogers being awarded it (after a "tournament in Rio De Janeiro"), although Bruno's several year long first reign is usually recognised first as Rogers held the title for only 18 days.

From 2002-2005 WWE experimented with trying to bring the World Heavyweight Title to a similar level of prestige. Having it run on the flagship show (Raw) was designed to do that, along with them occasionly retconning its WCW history (although that history doesn't officially count, its just a belt with a very similar design). WWE eventually decided to put their most prestigious belt on the flagship show and drafted Cena over to Raw. The belt has remained on Raw except in the 2008-2009 period where WWE decided to experiment with Smackdown as the flagship show (which consisted of moving Triple H and the title over).

hulk hogan was the last wwf champion and that was during backlash 04/02/02 and was retitled the wwe champoinship.

Yeah, but it was just a rename, despite that, the entire lineage stands. When the WWWF became the WWF, the title name changed but the history remained. Its like whenever they've replaced the physical belts, they've still represented the history and prestige of the original title belt. (although the current WWE title belt is disgraceful!)

When Ric Flair jumped ship to the WWF from WCW, he took with him the NWA World Heavyweight Championship, which at that point was WCW's World Championship. This was the "Big Gold Belt" and because the champion was required in those days to put down a deposit (in case the belt was damaged whilst in their possession) Ric Flair and others would often leave the deposit to gather interest as they would be getting the title bank at some point. When Ric Flair fell out with the NWA and WCW, he took the belt with him since they refused to return his deposit (and he refused to lose the title clean on his way out). Therefore WCW created their own belt and broke away from the NWA. When Flair returned, because WCW owned the physical belt they added the WCW logos and branding to it and renamed it the WCW International Championship. In a unification storyline, the belt eventually became the physical represenation of the WCW World Championship once again.

Like most wrestling companies, WCW had two of every championship (one that was used on TV, PPVs and houseshows, the other that the champion took on the road with them). When Hulk Hogan was champion during the NWO storyline, they had another replica built so they could spraypaint NWO over it and not ruin the original belt. When WWE bought WCW out, they naturally acquired all the belts, they used the WCW World Championship up until the day after Wrestlemania 18, where Triple H was presented with the WWE Undisputed Championship belt. When the World Heavyweight Championship was being brought into play, WWE commisioned a new belt made to look almost exactly like the "Big Gold" belt but with the WWE logos and trademarks built into it and of course "World Heavyweight Champion" as opposed to "Heavyweight Champion Of The World" when it represented what were the NWA and WCW World Championships.

Wrestlers who win championships will often have replicas made for themselves. We've seen Team 3D for example appear with every tag team championship belt they've won during a storyline a while back in TNA. The Rock has replicas in a trophy cabinet at his home too. Rhino was allowed to keep the ECW Championship belt when the company folded (WWE would later make their own replica based on this design) and most of the retired title belts are kept at WWE HQ, brought out for exhibition at events like Fan Axxess.

I remember the NWA/WWF Championship Title feud between Hogan and Flair. The Undertaker was involved in that feud as well thanks to Flair using him to psyche out Hogan I believe.

It's ironic that Flair is still having deposit issues regarding that title lol. I wonder if he's paid it yet to that website. I've not read an update on his warrant issue.

Nope Flair couldn't wangle himself out of it and was forced to pay half of the outstanding debt and sign 300 photographs so Highspots could sell them in an attempt to get back the remainder.

Thanks for the update. Well this is an interesting development in the feud. So they will have two WWE Titles with this new champion against CM Punk? Title versus Title in another unification match at Survivor Series maybe???

well it looks like we will have a tournament tonight for a new wwe champion:

rey mysterio vs ziggler
jack swagger vs R-truth
k. kingston vs del rio
alex riley vs the miz

now my question to any one who can answer is if alberto del rio becomes champion tonight what happens to his money in the bank brief case?

okay cool thanks. I was just curious about that. and what is with vince in that god ugly suit ugh bright pink really.

I believe it was light purple actually but yeah it was pretty ugly. I think The Miz is going to make it to the final against Ziggle and beat him...bam Miz is champion again.

I am going for rey mysterio. for his first wwe champion ship.
if del rio loses, do you think he will cash in his MINTB brief case?

I could also see Del Rio cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase if he ends up losing in the tournament and using it against the winner of the finals but I don't think that will happen. I don't see Rey winning. It's gonna be The Miz.

I think either Miz or Del Rio will win the tournament, only for CM Punk to appear via satellite and announce that he has in fact re-signed a contract with the company or something to make his title reign remain official.

Kofi Kingston is through, Miz is probably going to win now.

As for Cena, if I was booking I'd have Vince announce that he's fired and then for CM Punk to appear and agree to return, with the stipulation that Cena is rehired. This would turn Punk face and allow this storyline to progress.

I think this story line is going to continue until at least Survivor Series where it will hit it's climax and we'll see where it goes now. It's possible "firing" Cena is just a way for them to get him off television for a while to heal up and rest.

rey wins, I don't know if the miz could handle rey. I do hope they continue the cm punk, John cena story is the best arc in a long while and it makes up for that michael cole vs jerry the king fued. well here we are with following matches:

mysterioi vs R-truth
kingston vs the miz

place you're bets I am going with mysterio all the way. the long shot I think will be the miz, as hurt as he is. and (alberto del rio is still a wild card in the coming match).

the way beth was looking at kelly kelly I am wait for her to turn heel. I so want to be kelly kelly opponet just so she can do her rikishi move on me.
