wwe vs tnt anyone watching?

That is simply perfect execution of a storyline. Just perfection. Beautiful story telling in the ring, horrific but funny commentary, and this Impact Wrestling is why Vince is the King. I marked out fucking big time at the end of the match. It's always an awesome feeling when a crowd is into the match as much as Chicago was. The chanting is awesome...oh man I can go on and on about this match.

Can't wait to see it. Chicago crowds are usually hot and it's no surprise Punk got the biggest ovations of the night since it's his hometown. As for Cena, let's hope the jeers continue. :D

@Jetfire...in case you didn't know, the DQ was apparently part of the stipulation of the match. Basically Christian would have won by submission, pin fall, DQ or if the ref "made a bad call".

I was reading on another board people weren't happy with the stipulations and that Christian had to win a match like that...they would have rather seen a clean win...Christian pinning Orton.

Yep that's the fall out flak the match is getting. The stipulations were stupid. I think we're gonna get another Orton/Christian match for Summer Slam next month.

Well as I was at the PPV last night I must say the crowd was beyond electric. It was mayhem from the opening of the show until the end. Chants of CM Punk, Ice Cream Bars, and Cena Sucks no matter who was in the ring. The crowd was only silent for the Diva match and even then Punk chants rang down from all sides. The build up and the time spent in the last match was epic and so well thought out by all sides you wonder how the WWE can do that and produce drivel like Cole, Lawyer. The two MITB matches were by themselves high spot heaven and you would have been happy paying to see just them but then we got Cena and Punk. I am exhausted with only a few hours of sleep and may doze off here at work. For those wondering nothing happened of note after the cameras went off. Vince slapped around Johnny Ace and four refs helped Cena from the ring. Finally as usual parking and traffic control at the Allstate Arena Blows!!!! I mean does anyone with a brain park cars 4 deep? Really?

Money In The Bank, really is the best PPV of the year so far. It put Elimination Chamber to shame. The entire card was solid, even the Diva's and Big Show/Mark Henry were kept short in order to emphasise their strengths and cover for any weaknesses.

The Smackdown MITB match was total nonstop action (excuse the pun). Sin Cara took a sick bump onto the ladder which seems to write him off for a while until they can sort out this trademark dispute. Daniel Bryan as winner was very surprising, my initial thought was to go with Cody (Sheamus being the obvious) as he's been building momentum as of late. However, Bryan as winner gives me no complaints, however heres to wondering if WWE will actually award him the title. The RAW MITB match outcome was predictable, but the match itself contained a lot of unpredictable elements. Each man starting off with a ladder as a weapon (and then using them to attack Del Rio) was a fun way to kick the match off. Evan Bourne, meanwhile pulled the stunt of the night by nailing a shooting star press onto the other competitors from a "Jeff Hardy" style ladder. Miz seemed to be injured, only to return near the end of the match, frantically hopping to the ring and up the ladder. A shorter, but nonetheless fun effort.

The Christian vs Randy Orton match was a good solid outing, marred by the cheap finish. Although it made sense to have Christian go over and win the title, it makes him look weak (even from a heel pov) to have won the title following a DQ victory. Nonetheless these two mean delivered all throughout and Orton's "breakdown" following the decision was brilliant executed, including playing to the crowds requests to RKO Christian on the table "one more time"!

CM Punk vs John Cena was up next and Punk recieved one of the biggest pops of the year, whilst Cena was booed perhaps more than had ever been before. The crowd was solidly into this match. What I noticed about Cena in this match was that he decided to wrestle a more old school wrestling style, utilising holds such as the abdominal stretch, armlocks and performing takedowns. This was a welcome change and went well in contrast to Punk's offense. Punk played the match like a classic babyface, neglecting to break the rules or use the ropes, for example to his advantage. Following Punk escaping from the STF twice, the second time after reversing it into the Anaconda Vice, Cena hit the AA. Punk kicked out and managed to connect with the GTS, although he hit Cena in the ribs and forced him out of the ring. Punk got Cena back into the ring and was hit with another AA, however Punk got the shoulder up and the crowd exploded. Following another stalemate, Vince McMahon and Johnny Ace walked to the ring, as Vince suggested they "rang the bell", however Cena punched out Johnny Ace and told Vince "I'm doing this my way". As Cena renentered the ring, Punk caught him with a kick and hit the GTS, before covering him and getting the 3. The crowd exploded as Vince reminded as why he is one of the most convincing heels with a look of absolute disgust and horror! Punk celebrated in the ring with the WWE championship, before Vince made his way to ringside.

Vince, putting on a headset demanded that Alberto Del Rio come to the ring and cash in. ADR did just that and was swiftly met with a right hand from Punk, since the referee never rang the bell, Punk escaped through the crowd, blowing a kiss to McMahon as the Chairman looked absolutely horrified.

Money In The Bank was an example of superb booking on WWE's part. Punk and Cena beyond delivered and despite Cena's limitations as an in ring performer, he really made the effort to work on Punk's level. Despite not being a fan of Cena, I respect the guy for the sheer amount of work he puts in, whether it be appearing more than any other performer on the roster, to his charity work or his work with the armed forces he is a real hard worker. This showed tonight when he wrestled a 33 minute match to a very respectable standard, utilising moves and revearsals that we hadn't seen from him before. It wasn't only this, he really sold for Punk, despite the difference in size between the two men, it actually looked as if Punk was beating the crap out of Cena (just check the jumping knees on the ropes) and he helped the hometown hero look like a real headliner, finally!
It seems as if Punk has re-signed with the company and has finally been promoted to the ultimate position. WWE probably won't be able to keep Punk as heel after last night!

Oh I think it would only take one promo from Punk to turn him heel, not that I think he will go that way. No one likes Del Rio but will he become the number one contender and hold the MITB case as well? If not who is the number one contender? Cena should be fired tonight and then the Rock should show up on the Tron via satelitte and just roast him for losing to a literal Punk.
There is no doubt Punk re-signed with the company as Vince would never allow anyone to win the belt and then leave so will they also keep Punk off TV for a few months and introduce a new belt while he is gone? Can the show afford to lose Cena and Punk at the same time? Who's ready to step up and fill in?

It appears the real reason Sin Cara was written out is due to his first wellness policy violation. How this may effect his WWE career is anyones guess at the moment, although given that he's Triple H's "pet project" I can't see much happening to put a spanner in the works of his push.

so how were you're seats? and were there any dark matches prior to the show?

Seats were great. Sat about three rows above where the camera can see when you watch on tv. Only one Dark match with Santino & Kozlov vs the Tag champs. Non title match with Santino hitting the Cobra for the win. Crowd was huge over with Santino.

santino is a great face. but I did like his fued with the king. money in the bank was fantastic ppv.

Punk may have just signed an extension through to finish off the angle properly.

That said, I read an interview with Punk saying that finanically he's could go the rest of his life without a payday. I'm sure he will be quite happy with his payday from last night and probably tonight.

I recall reading in Jericho's second book that he wasn't supposed to work the day after Summerslam in 2005 as his contract was offically up. But Vince called him up (after having everyone else call him first) to have him work the "You're Fired" match against Cena essentally last minute.

If Punk is not signed yet or has a one day contract extension I could Vince opening up Raw and ordering Del Rio again to cash in his Money in the Bank match against Punk for Raw's main event. Or reinstating Cena and ordering a rematch. LOL. This has been the most entertaining storyline they've done in years IMO.

They would not have awarded Punk a WWE Championship victory along with the massive storyline if he was on the way out. I would put money on this entire storyline being an incentive for re-signing with the company. Punk has said he will not be at RAW tonight, although he may make a satellite appearance. This tells me that WWE may have given him a couple of weeks off, perhaps to build on the storyline and work more with Cena getting fired.

I think Punk is on the road to becoming a babyface in the same kind of category as Steve Austin. I also think they want to wait a while before ADR cashes in, make him unbearable, always going on about how he's going to be the next WWE Champion and infuriating the crowd with teases about cashing in. This would be good booking to give ADR a massive amount of heat.

^ I agree this is where the fans are going with the angle any ways. This totally reminds me of how the Austin/McMahon feud began and it's been just as good as that was just creative.

It seems silly but just for a homage and for shits and giggle if I was punk i would have had a bottle of spray paint and sprayed nWo on the belt. The match last night reminded me of Hogan Vs The Giant fifteen years ago except much much better and with very little overselling on both men's part.

Yeah this is CM Punk's first WWE Championship reign, although prior to this he has won the World Heavyweight Championship on 3 occasions. I will say that despite the way WWE portrays it, the WWE Championship is far more prestigious in my opinion (as it recognises the entire history all the way back to the WWWF days, whereas the WHC is only recognised from Triple H's first reign in 2002).
