I was trying to examine credible scenarios earlier on regarding the Rock vs Cena match at WM28. My first instinct, however much I dislike it is that WWE goes with a "passing of the torch" and has Cena go over Rock clean. But then I realised that Cena doesn't need that, he is WWE's biggest star and he's cemented his place, if anything this match should be about two of the biggest names in pro wrestling (or "sports entertainment") history, with a score to settle.
The Rock will likely be the star inductee in next years hall of fame and this is something usually reserved for those whose active ring career is over. The Rock has suggested he would like to make more appearances in a wrestling capacity for the WWE, but we all know his schedule and their schedule won't permit anything but a high profile exhibition match, once or twice a year. Is Cena winning at WM28 against The Rock to be regarded as a reward for his loyalty? I think that most fans have grown accustomed to the idea that Cena doesn't lose the matches that matter and therefore if Cena does win, then it won't be a big shocker.
WWE could also go the "Rocky Balboa" route. The Rock in the build to WM28 could announce his concerns about stepping back into the ring, wondering if he's still got it and that by winning the match he is proving to himself that he's still got what it takes. Obviously this would be supplemental to the main issue, which is a clash of personalities between him and Cena. Rock could return to action just prior to WM28, perhaps in a Wrestlemania Replay match against Triple H (final 2 competitors in WM16's fatal four way elimination match), where Cena would interfere costing Rock the match and adding to his doubts (the old Rock would have made a "Cena" like comeback). But this would be dependant on Cena acting like a heel, which is a big no no for WWE.
Lets assume that WWE want to turn Cena immediately post Wrestlemania. Now this is completely dependant on Rock wrestling further matches. WWE would bring back the WM MITB match and in the main event Rock would beat Cena for the title after an epic match. Post match Rock would shake hands and endorse Cena and they would celebrate in the ring to close the show. The following RAW, Cena would ask for his rematch, The Rock would grant it and the match would be set. During the match Cena would grow frustrated of Rock kicking out off his pinfalls and resort to heelish tactics, eventually getting disqualified. Following the decision, Cena would beat The Rock up to coincide with an injury angle (Rock returns to Hollywood) and as Cena walks up the ramp, the MITB winner would run and cash in, winning the WWE championship. This would set up a Summerslam rematch where heel Cena would naturally make it one a piece, perhaps turning face once again. By doing this they give a time frame to experiment with Cena as a heel, whilst building another wrestler up ("hey I pinned The Rock to win the WWE title!") and attracting big guyrates for Cena Vs Rock II at Summerslam. Of course this could still happen without the MITB, Cena could simply attack Rock and the title would be vacated.
I think at this juncture, the best bet is for Cena to go over Rock.

Stone Cold just tweeted that WWE is going to be doing one final DVD on the story of his career from start to finish.

The Rock's match with Cena laid out one year in advance is completely ludicrous. Cena doesn't need to be put over and the Rock's likely not coming back anything close to even part-time. You can't even consider this a passing of the torch type moment because Cena was given the torch and allowed to channel the invincible Hulk Hogan of the 80's years ago.
To me, the only way this ends well (or at least not in a completely predictable manner) is with a full-on Cena heel turn, with him finally letting his emotions about the split crowd and "Cena sucks!" chants get the best of him and beating the Rock to a bloody pulp. But we all know that will never, ever happen.
^ They should have done the heel turn after Wrestlemaina and done a Miz face turn and have the two in a program. I feel like they dropped the ball on this big time.

Possibly, it depends on the angle they have planned though. I'd imagine a lot of TNA fans won't actually understand the significance of the AAA title and therefore its a fairly moot point.

tara vs madison fued is going strong tonight that's for sure. and they did show aaa title nice looking belt I am wondering if the they are starting a third fued here with the mexican americans by bringing this title in. so far not a bad show though no kurt yet.
I remember when Team 3D and The Motor City Machine Guns were IWGP Tag Team and Junior Tag Team champs, respectively. They didn't bother to explain the concept of the Internation Wrestling Grand Prix (there isn't one as such its just a prestigious name that garners a lot of deserved respect and is in fitting with a title that doesn't have to be defended solely in one promotion, hence "International"). So they just referred to them as the New Japan Tag Team and Junior Tag Team belts.
Its not as bad as on the occasion they simply referred to as being a "Champion in Japan". To me thats pretty lame, considering the well known name of New Japan Pro Wrestling.

^ ^That sounds like Impact Wrestling to me. I still laugh when Tenay described the Pedigree as a "DDT TYPE MOVE"!!!! In fact I howled at the line. LOL.

I love that about TNA! Despite the fact its obvious that Double J does the Pedigree as a "because he can", Its puzzling as to why Tenay chose to call it "A DDT type move" rather than a "Double Underhook Facebuster". I mean its not even close to a DDT, there is no headlock involved and the impact is completely different.
Its like when WWE went through a phase of removing specific "originator" names and the like from moves. It even still applies to some moves!

I believe the F5 was Brock Lesnar's...but I am sure someone did it before him...plus Matt Morgan's finishers
I noticed WWE wrestlers like Bad Ass Billy Gunn and Test started to do the "Meltdown" which Wrath (WCW) had as a finisher...but it is just called a "pumphandle slam" I believe Wade Barrett does it now.

The Miz used to do a running knee followed by a neckbreaker as a finisher, he called it the "Reality Check". It was always an awkward looking move and Miz wouldn't always be able to hit a smooth and speedy transition between the two (after wrestling an energetic match its going to be pretty hard). Funnily enough the Bicycle Kick and its variations were originally pioneered by New Japan legend Masahiro Chono, under the name "Kenka Kick" and despite his worldwide renown, WWE never acknowledged this.
I'm a bit puzzled as to why WWE never made CM Punk rename his finishing moves. The "Go To Sleep" was a move innovated by legendary Junior Heavyweight (we're talking popularity on par with Cena in Japan!) KENTA. Punk's other finishing move the "Anaconda Vice" is actually based on a Judo compression choke, however in professional wrestling it was pioneered by another Japanese legend the former 4 time IWGP champion, Hiroyoshi Tenzan who used it under the "Anaconda Vice" name. I suppose because of CM Punk's public respect for Puroresu (Japanese Pro-Wrestling) and his use of these moves as tributes and along with WWE's failure to acknowledge the originators of the moves, it "ok".

From that brief quote it looks like Punk is going kayfabe in that interview while using a bit of his real life views to propagate it I think he's signed personally and am sticking with that prediction. If he loses on Sunday we shall see where the angle goes next won't we?
