WTF just happened in this soap opera?

So, I'm watching DS9 chronologically (and I've never seen any episodes past "Looking for par'Mach in All the Wrong Places" season 5... so I'd appreciate spoilers after this moment to be withheld (which is why I don't post here often, yet). But... what the hell is up with this episode? O'Brien and Kira having sexual tension, Worf and Dax getting busy, and Quark and his "ex-wife" engaging in a Klingon mating ritual? O'Brien's temptation to have an affair with Kira was highly out of character for both. Worf and Dax? Why not... but I wish it hadn't have been pursued so cheaply in an episode full of awkward relationships.

I've been loving DS9 so far... but this episode was really strange.

Eh, I like par'Mach. It's a rare case of romance in Trek that works, and it had the best romantic coupling the series ever had:

Quark and Grilka.

There, I said it. At least I'm consistent. ;)

Quark and Grilka is just awesome. :)

Jadzia and Worf? They're both very tall.

Miles and Kira? He had misplaced feelings from looking after the baby, and kira had been treated like crap most of her life, and it's not half as insane as when Gul Dukat thought he could get his leg over in season 2's Civil Defense. Silly SILLY Space Hitler trying to bed a space Jew.

Stick a man and a woman together long enough and the man will want to sleep with her. Wait twice as long as that and the woman will become interested.

The best part of this one was Quark & Grilka. That was hilarious.

The rest was fairly lame.

Kira is hot and Keiko is a bitch. :)

Echoe that sentiment. Keikole's such a miserable nagging witch that I'm surprised O'Brien didn't turn gay and nail Morn.....

Kieko is so hot. She was... I was going to say that Rosalind was almost 15 years older than Nana, but I looked it up... Nana is 2 months older. 1957, both of them! I mean, I'd thought Rosalind was looking amazing for her age, mid thirties when DS9 started(Perspectives change. i used to be a child.) ...but hell, baby, Nana is like a vampire or something? A cradle robbing vampire at that!

Rosiland is still delicious. Besides, you have to admirer a woman who has a vagina which gives even Klingon's nightmares. ;)

I can only imagine that Colm actually looks his age, as he is only 3 years the senior of wither of these impressive women.

Nana is the hottest 50-year old around. I mean, wow... *does Hannibal Lecter-style teeth sucking thing from Silence of the Lambs*

I like par'Mach. Ok, Worf and Dax hooking up was pretty much spontaneous and left field and I was kinda expecting Dax to treat it not much more than a one night stand. But yeah, I dug Quark and Grilka, Worf as Cyrano de Bergerac and the Kira/Miles/Keiko B-plot.

^I always thought Jadzia had her eye on Worf from his very first appearance on the station. He just impressed her.

Agree, that was the only tension I expected to materialize. Honestly, though, O'Brien and Kira's little flirting escapade came out of nowhere and I have to maintain that was out of character for both of them (not to mention, awkwardly acted because the writing was bad). Let me say, I've had no criticisms of the show up to this point, DS9 may be my favorite of all the series.

Miles and Kira had even less chemistry than Miles and Keiko! ugh, that was pretty horrible. some pairings in DS9 were totally out of left field, I've got to say. :wtf:

and I'd have to agree about Nana -- she's hot. but she had more chemistry with Dukat/Alaimo than any regular character on the show. I've always loved their scenes together.
