WTF?! Harlan Ellison....

...was in the latest episode of Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated. Playing himself. I don't see much about it on the Internet, but he was listed in the credits. :rommie:

Strange place for him to turn up, and in a rather self-effacing role. I wonder if he needs the money.

Anyway, has anybody else been watching this show? Despite being a reboot-- arrgh-- it's a great little production. There's a couple of elements of plot and characterization that I'm not enamored of, but overall it's really nice and I look forward to new episodes.

LOL!!!!

I came here to actually say that exact thing!

"If it wasn't for you damned fucking asshole kids........!!!"

He didn't write the episode; it was by Adam Beechen. And it was totally awesome. Not only did it have Harlan Ellison and a "monster" that was basically Cthulhu, but it featured a "Professor H. P. Hatecraft" played by none other than Jeffrey Combs! And Daphne gets caught up with a group of college protestors led by a guy who looks like Che Guevara.

Yeah, the "Hatecraft" thing cracked me up. I didn't notice that it was Jeffrey Combs, though. I love him. :bolian:

It's an in-joke, because one of Combs' main claims to fame is from playing the lead in Re-Animator, based on a Lovecraft story.

it was a good episode. Mystery Inc has been pretty good so far. every episode seems to have a little in joke or reference to something. one episode had Pebbles and Bam-Bam in the background. then there was the War of the Gargantuas episode.

I'd like to catch this. Does anyone know if the episode is available online anywhere?

I don't know if it's online, but it's on Cartoon Network tomorrow (Saturday the 23rd) at 11:30 AM, Sunday at 8:30 AM, and Monday at 6:30 PM (right before the next new episode).

This episode was great.

I've been watching the new Scooby Doo with my daughter and we've both been really enjoying it.

That's a great movie. Another little joke in the story was that Hatecraft's #1 fan was "Howard E. Roberts." :rommie:

You're gonna need a lawyer for starting this thread.

{{{HUMOR}}}
Well, at least the subsequent interview with Comics Journal will get me some good publicity.

Thanks, Christopher! I'll set my DVR.
It's also on On Demand, if you have that.
