Writer's strike ending... will the script get reworked?

With todays news of the delay until may 2009 it seems to me like maybe there will be a re-write afterall.

It had better get a little bit of reworking and cleaning up and whatever else they can do to make it a world class event in five extra months.

No rewrite.

This scheduling move is entirely marketing driven, from outside the production. There's an update at trekmovie.com now explaining how the shuffling of upper management has resulted in these schedule changes.

Sweet. An extra few months could help make the film a lot better. You always hear about films that got rushed out the door and suffered as a result.

^Well to be fair this film hasn't been rushed, given principal photography is already 2/3rds the way through almost a year out from it's initial release date. That seems ample enough time for re-shoots, post-production etc.

"Star Trek is moving to summer because it has so much boxoffice potential," Par spokesman Michael Vollman said. "It does not need any script tweaks. They're two-thirds of the way through shooting, and we would have delivered a great movie at Christmas."

^You can stare at me all you want, but I have no doubt that they will take advantage of the end of the strike and the new later release date to do some rewriting of the script. STOP STARING AT ME!!!
