I'd hoped to enter this with a friend of mine but neither of us have the time.

Really? You don't have the time to write a couple of hundred words a day? You've got almost a month still, and its only 2500 words...

Between work, my personal life and other writing projects, and my writing partner having the same on his plate... sadly, no. We've got a couple good ideas but just don't have the time.

Fair comment. Frankly given all thats going on in my life at the moment I'm not quite sure how I'm nanaging to write a Who story, and keep my novel going (sure there's some kind of wibbly wobbly reason at work)

I think they would and I agree with them, as Picard might say where do you draw the line? 129 words, 500 words....they have a word limit and frankly I will meet it. I just hope I can do it without losing too much Doctor/Tegan banter

I think if your story is good then they would overlook that.

Got too engrossed in Battlestar Galactica now I can't get my mindset back to Who.

Ah well, gives everyone else a chance.

I don't think they would, and it wouldn't be fair. Rules are rules...anyway, got mine down to 2500 now-couple more proof reads then will send it in.

That's my story off to Big Finish as well; that final readthrough shaved off another few words, so I'm just under the wire in terms of word count. After nearly a year of struggling with my screenplay, it was good to take a break and work on something that was just lighthearted and fun. I really enjoyed it, and I'm also really pleased with it. Here's hoping!

Closing in on the final 2 pages or so-- was thinking of pulling a late night tonight to finish, then proof over the weekend in the [e-]mail Monday morning. But I have to be up in 5 hours and I've not slept (unrelated issues) in 3 days

Now, before I get my hopes up, I've been working in standard 3rd person prose format, it doesn't have to be in audio-drama script layout right?
