Wrestling (AEW, WWE, etc)

Before WWE got sold to TKO & became the Paul "HHH" Levesque era, WWE used to have that many matches on the card as well.

They also had longer matches & filled with far less ads in all their PPV's.

Go ahead, look at the older WM before the TKO era.
e.g. WM 35 had 16 matches in total, 4x of those 16x Matches were on the Pre-Show card

AEW's Match Card Line-Up isn't too crazy, it's just similar to how WWE used to do their Match Card setup.

All the extra Match Time got swapped for more Advertisement time.

<Sarcasm> You got to love how nearly 2/3rd of the PPV time = Advertisement time now. </Sarcasm>

lol when wwe used to have many matches on its ppv line up cards and somewhat longer matches was during the old days from the before tko era via the titan towers saga

Night 2 was definitely a big improvement. Oba/Brock was exactly what it needed to be. Ladder match was very fun - sometimes they can be a bit too contrived, but they managed to keep this one all action without too much setting up spots. Trick/Sami was too short and I don't really care about Balor and his Demon thing. Women's match was Jade's best match and Rhea is great. And the main event exceeded my expectations with Punk entering a fantastic performance.

Still had the same problems a night 1 with all the adeverisements making it feel soulless. And having a billionaire who literally bought his wasy onto the show sitting at the announce desk for one match. Dystopian!
