As a new WWE viewer, I've seen a lot of negative comments on Twitter about WWE's constant channel and platform switching for programming and PPV. Some are justified, especially those who are justifiably upset about the fact that everything is tied to Netflix internationally, while programs and PPV are distributed everywhere in the US. Furthermore, some claim that the reason for Fox's departure is its lack of viewership. However, Fox's statements suggest that it's due to advertisers' refusal to advertise. I've also seen comments like these, including that Netflix viewership is lower than expected. Netflix announced that Raw gets 2.3-3 million views each week, and that WWE broadcasts overall have generated 280 million views in the first six months. This translates to 10 million views per week. Do you think this is a failure for Netflix, which pays $500 million annually for its broadcasts?

WWE doesn't have a "Off-Season".

They air content every week of the year.

RAW has 52 eps per year.
This isn't even factoring SmackDown! on the USA Network & NXT on CW.
Both of those shows eventually end up on NetFlix for VOD after airing live on their respective channels.

The final ep at the end of the year is a Annual ReCap show.

This isn't even factoring PPV's.

Right now there are 24+ PPV's scheduled this year (Some PPV's are still TBA).

NetFlix is getting more than their money's worth given the volume of "Live Content" being sent their way.

This is not true. I know that Netflix, NXT, and SmackDown are broadcast live simultaneously on the USA Network and the CW. Yesterday, SmackDown aired at 10:00 PM Turkey time because it was in Europe. When they produced the program in the US, it aired at 3 AM in Turkey. What time was it broadcast on the USA Network yesterday?

The NetFlix deal is for $5 Billion over 10 years = $500 Million per year
 
Rikishi Fatu just lost his hard earned "WWE.ID" badge / affiliation for his KnokX Pro Wrestling School over the Raja Jackson incident.

Reports: WWE Officially Severs Ties With KnokX Pro Following Raja Jackson Incident

Raja being the son of Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, a MMA HoF-er.

Rikishi wasn't at the show, his cousin "Black Pearl" was running it at the time when this incident went down.

All of Rikishi's hard work, now down the drain.


This thing just really blew up and shows the dangers of inviting outsiders into the Pro Wrestling Bubble, people who don't know or understand what Pro Wrestling is.

Just because Raja's father understands it, & is a noted HUGE Fan of Pro Wrestling.

Doesn't mean his son Raja would necesarrily understand it.

Raja basically just turned his name into a Toxic / Nuclear RadioActive Warning Sign.

IMO, he has no future in ANY Combat Sport after this.

There's no reputable company / league or profession who would hire him.

He SQUANDERED any good will that his father created with his amazing legacy.

This should be a GIANT Wake-Up call for the rest of the Pro Wrestling industry, especially when it comes to inviting outsiders and not doing enough "Vetting" on them to see if they truly understand the business.

MMA and pro wrestling are opposite numbers... one is about trying to hurt your opponent, and the other is about not really hurting your opponent.
