Wrath of the Titans trailer is up!

she's queen of Argos - and apparently Greece - so of COURSE she's a warrior.

i enjoyed it. it wasn't brilliant, it probably wasn't as good as Clash, but it was still good.

I think a lot of things go for the Xena melting pot method of drawing from mythology.

If you have ever read the original Greek myths they are pretty wild and wacky by today's standards. In the original Greek myth Pegasus springs forth from the neck of Medusa after Perseus decapitates her.

So I have no problem with Hollywood taking core elements of Greek mythology and crafting their own stories.

I thought Clash was pretty boring myself.

I loved it!

I saw it last Saturday. Looked on the first few pages for a thread. Didn't feel like searching for one or starting an official review thread for discussion.
I give the movie a C grade.

I miss IO.
The shift of Andromeda into warrior queen didn't feel right.
The kiss really didn't feel organic. I never once bought those two had any subdued feelings of merit for each other.
I to did a double take with the Minataur, mythology as a melting pot, ok then.

I thought the film ended rather anti-climatically from a character perspective. Sure there was lots of noise and explosions but it felt hollow. Perhaps it's cause I thought they were going overkill with the hat trick of angles with the Father/Son analogy going on.
Perseus/Helios
Perseus/Zeus
Zeus/Hades/Cronus

Cronus being a CGI lava monster also didn't help. Where was the viewer going to connect emotionally with that? At least the other two Father/Son moments were able to have some heart.

Truthfully I kept expecting some scene of regret from the Navigator over the loss of his father Neptune. Just to keep needling at that angle but it didn't happen.

I see I'm not the only one to have felt a bit bored during the film. It's a shame to cause I really wanted to like it. I did like Clash, I'm not as down on that as some, Wrath was a bit of a let down though.

thinking about seeing this tomorrow. thought the Clash remake was actually pretty decent. may watch Hunger Games instead of Wrath though.

Shitty movie. Can I have those two hours of my life back please?

Did you like the 2010 remake version of Clash?

No, but my wife loved it. Which why I ended up seeing Wrath.

Thanks. I asked because it gives me a general indication that those that liked the first movie tend to like the sequel and those that didn't like the first movie didn't like the sequel. I find that in many of the reviews I have read both professional and amateur. There are exceptions to this of course.

watched this earlier tonight and thought it was a lot of fun. i think it was more enjoyable than the previous film. the first one had a lot of marks to hit, being a remake. this film was able to go in its own direction and do some neat things.

For anyone still interested in this movie, there's an excellent, in-depth review comparing it to/measuring it in context with the 2010 Clash here. Until I read it, I'd intended on Netflixing Wrath some day. Now, not so much. :p
