Wrath of Khan: Director's Cut Blu-Ray

StarTrek.com just posted a new story today saying that a new Wrath of Khan: Director's Cut Blu-Ray is coming out on June 7th. I honestly didn't even know there was a director's cut of WoK, how different is it? Has it been released before?
The new edition will include both the director cut and theatrical cuts of the movie, along with a new making of documentary, and some old special features.
