Wouldn't "Enterprise" also be effected by the time travel?

The First Contact question is one that perplexes me actually.

Can somebody smarter than me explain, if Kirk went back in time from the new timeline to the point of First Contact, a point in the timeline that is common to both realities, would he find Picard there battling the Borg?

I think...no.

Because in the new timeline, TNG never happens (at least as depicted) which means Q never warps the Enterprise-D to its first Borg encounter, thus alerting them to the presence of the Federation and setting in motion all near-term (within several decades) future encounters with the Borg. Therefore no First Contact, and.... no Enterprise, which apparently springs from the FC 'altered' timeline.

Happy endings all around!!

Actually, he should find Picard and the Borg if he returns to that point--it is a point in common to both timelines. Of course, if he interacts with that timeline, under the rules of time travel in this movie, then it will create another divergence from that moment.
