Would you want a Star Trek TV series or movies set during the ''lost era

I'd be definitely be interested in a series that told a story that could only fit into that time period, that considers Star Trek continuity to be an inspiration and a resource instead of something that needs to be paid lip service to in order to keep fans happy, and that looks and feels like it belongs. Within reason. I mean they don't have to wear the monster maroons, I'm sure there were other uniforms during that time.

But I know they wouldn't do that so I'm not interested.

Whilst there are no doubt some good bits to cover during this era (The Enterprise B, Enterprise C, Cardassian War, Captain Sulu to name a few), I think the inherent problem with this era is that it was kind of in-universe meant to be kind of dull - it was during the sort of golden era of the Federation, an era for the most part marked by peace and stability (a few scuffles aside), a smaller Starfleet, Klingons becoming allies etc. I'm up for any ST series as long as its good - but it just doesn't personally strike me as an era that I'd be hugely excited to see. I think novels and comics are better suited to cover the good bits nicely.

I'm just not really sure what it can add to the universe that actually matters we don't know already. Sure there was a Cardassian war - well we know already that while brutal as in any war, it was nothing compared to the Dominion War. We've already had lots of insights into Cardassian cruelty. We know there were some scuffles with the Romulans and the Enterprise C got destroyed - well, we know that story, and the relations with the Romulans and the Klingons beforehand we've seen those kind of tensions before too. It just feels difficult to me to envisage what new a story in that era would bring to the table.

I wouldn't trust them not to do what they did with Discovery and have radically different uniforms and ship designs and look indistinguishable from Picard.
Let it be a ‘lost’ era then, or let them make their own original sci-if series that is not Star Trek?
Picard does have a 3D model asset of the Constitution class refit Enterprise A, so they could at least use that?

I would love some story (I'm saying story as I would love a tv movie, a minis-series or a full series) set onboard the Enterprise-B. I love that ship and it has some potential.

if its done American Horror Story style sure. Each Season can be based on one particular ship and their adventures.

I want Phase II or III. (post TMP, or post TVH missions.) Maybe the in-between-years eventually, if they could respect things like the Uniforms, or use the proper models for the time period.

If you asked me that in 2005 after ENT ended, I would have said an enthusiastic “yes!”

Now? Any show they produce, no matter what time period it’s set in, will look and feel no different from either SNW (mid-23rd century), PIC (early 25th century) or DSC (32nd century.) So there would be no point in making a show set in the Lost Years.
I agree. Just like with ENT, if they're not willing to show an era as truly different, there's just no point. I will give them credit with Picard: the 25th century is grim, but that's the extent of it. They had a chance to make a relatively different culture for the federation in the 32nd century and it almost seemed like they were going to commit to it, but they faltered and the story line became how to restore status quo. They could still fix that, but I'd rather they leave the Lost Era a bit or pristine wilderness.

.

Honestly, I would have wanted a Lost Era series back in the 90s or 00s, where we might still have reasonably had a show with the original actors playing the post-Generations-early-section adventures of Chekov, Sulu, Uhura, Scotty, Saavik in the very late 23rd/early 24th century. But the time for that passed.

Those are by far my favorite uniforms in all of Star Trek. So appealing to me.

I’m totally gonna buy that hoodie version now

But I think they should move on from prequels. Just tell a new story in the “present” (being I guess Picard era) or future. Plus I’m generally against people explaining things to death or taking away all the mystery background coloring by explaining things.

The Lost Ers will always be very 70s to me. So if they did it I would want it to be 70s style filming.

It's not really about the '70's' though. It's about the inherent problem when Trek producers make prequels: they inevitably look far more advanced than the show they're supposed to be a prequel to. ENT looked more advanced than TOS. DSC and SNW looks more advanced than TOS. And a show that takes place during the Lost Years will look more advanced than TNG.
