Would you rather live in the SW universe or the ST universe?

infinix

Fleet Captain
Fleet Captain
As an average working middle class human??

Subsequently, would you rather be a captain of a Federation star ship (any star ship of your choosing) or would you rather be a Jedi Master?

I could never decide, but I'm leaning towards being a Federation captain because of the holodeck and the replicators. I imagine I could probably build myself a light saber in the ST universe.

How is there even any contest? I'd have a much better chance of staying alive and whole in the Trek universe than in a universe so torn by war that it actually has "Wars" in its name. Not to mention a better chance of retaining personal freedoms and material prosperity.

Star Trek.
I'd have a hard time believing in the Jedi.
Call me Han.

Agreed,STAR TREK. I would probably have a hard time being a Jedi (as much as I would want to be if it was...) Now if you could have Jedi Knights in the Star Trek universe that would be cool.:vulcan: I think Vulcans(mind melds, sensing distant things, etc.) are the closest thing to a Jedi.

I'd go with Trek, but I do wonder if life in the 24th Century for an average Joe might be a little dull...I mean when you can have anything you want, indulge (practically) any fantasy on the holodeck, it might end up quite bland existance.

What if you got to be a Jedi Master? Wouldn't the benefits of the Force make it a harder choice?

ST captains die all the time, too...

Yeah... seriously. Trek all the way for this one.

Well, if I were living in one of these universes but I were responsible for forging my own destiny I have doubts I'd pursue a life as a Jedi; I'm far too fleeting. So unless we're talking about just setting me up as something like some kind of cheap, sushi-order drop down menu and voila, this is irrelevant. ;)

Star Trek is the clear choice, but I'd be like Kirk and change the rules so that I could live in the Star Trek world with the power of the Force and a Lightsaber.

Assuming that I would be wealthy enough to afford my own small starship, Star Wars would be my choice. Exploring the galaxy.

And trying to stay clear of 'imperial entanglements' of course. :D

I want an exciting life. I don't want to be bored to death, as most of you seem to want. ;)

Trek of course. Holodecks, food replicators, computers that can do anything, medical science that can cure just about anything, and allow you to live to over 120+ years old. And no need to worry about money.
I'm not sure how society works in Trek with jobs and housing and such for the average Joe, but it would be miles better than the average person in the SW universe.

Oh no, not at all. Like I said, I probably wouldn't get involved with the Jedi Order for that matter. I'd be exploring to my heart's content.

It's just that I can do all that exploring with a greater degree of safety but still hold onto a good deal of danger and intrigue in the Trekverse. Really, it's true. It's not like the Trekverse has a short supply of wonders, nor even perils.

Star Trek would be a much safer place to live. The Dominion War was the only conflict to really threaten the bread and butter of the Federation. Plus, it's a socialist paradise!

SW on the other hand has always had a horrifically corrupt and inept government (or an evil dictatorship) and there's a major war wiping out billions every 5-10 years! :p

A Utopian society with hardly no threats if you stay on earth/alpha quadrant or running for your life and flying a ship that doesn't work 90% of the time.

Hmm

I really don't think the Trekverse is half as safe as it sounds when compared from only a big, broad perspective. Those ships in the Federation, they bump into crazy, life-threatening stuff left and right, you know.

That's why I feel like the Trekverse is adequately adventurous for me. I don't need to get involved in a place where billions are getting wiped out by the decade; space jellyfish alone are scary enough.

Trek. Athough I would definitely stay away from Earth, considering how often it gets attacked or invaded.
