Would you have liked to have Sisko to be replaced by a Founder?

No. Having one main character, Bashir, replaced by a Founder (majorly, I'm not talking about little impersonations like Kira in Heart of Stone) is enough. If Founders freely impersonated everyone in the main cast it would seem like the writers can't think of anything else to do, and wouldn't make much sense, in DS9, the main characters aren't necessarily the most important ones in the picture, there are more high profile targets.

Also, with Sisko, if he was replaced, Jake would certainly notice something quickly because of their close familial relationship. The only reason Bashir was successfully impersonated for a while was because he didn't have any family on DS9, and he could somewhat avoid too many friendly outings with O'Brien without O'Brien suspecting anything, but if Sisko didn't show up to dinner, or cooked a sub-par meal, Jake would suspect something.

That still begs the question of how fake Bashir presumably carried out his normal activities involving medicine. Seems most people in the 24th century have fairly specialized knowledge and skills. When did Starfleet medical open a Great Link branch office?

I was hoping the alligator in Grandpa Sisko's restaurant would turn out to be a Founder. :)

I would not have liked to see Sisko replaced by a founder. Sisko is our rock throughout DS9, almost untouchable (as you would expect from the lead character/hero). If he had been replaced it would have made ds9/the federaiton look totally powerless imo.

It was enough to have Martok and Bashir replaced by founders.

As the founders put it, "we changelings are smarter than you solids".

We don't know how Changelings store knowledge or memory. They can possibly recall any memory without fail so the changeling needed only read Starfleet medical information and recall that memory when required.

What would have REALLY sucked balls for the UFP, is if Jaresh-Inyo turned out to be a Founder.

siskos son jake, would have been interesting, because sisko would have one: see if he could tell, two: figure out why the founders wanted to impersonate him, and three: get him back.

not sure about Sisko being replaced but it would have made a interesting twist if it were the federation president that was a founder.
maybe a scene near the end where the war has ended with all the alpha powers weakened but victorious. The female changeling is brought to earth for her imprisonment only to find the president is one of her people thus why she was willing to surrender.
The founders goal of making sure the alpha races no longer were a threat to the founders are a reality and the federation unknowingly to anyone else is under the control of the dominion.

There were times during the 5th season when I almost thought he was.

The 5th season was the creepiest one in my opinion, because of the way they played the changeling threat-at one point.

When they previewed "For The Cause", I thought they were going to reveal Cassidy Yates might be one.

I liked the idea of Bashir having been replaced by a Founder for a while...but I don't think I'd have liked Sisko being replaced.

I don't think the stories would have worked, because it would have been too easy (and too obvious) for him to do things to assure Dominion victory over the AQ.
