Would you eat Janeway's cooking?

^ I noticed it too, LOL!!!

To answer....nah, I'm a vegetarian (that's my excuse and I am sticking with it!)

I caught that as well, and tastefully declined to make a joke about it. But I really wanted to. Glad mine isn't the only sick mind on the board.

Seeing how many times she screwed up the cooking I'd probably force myself through it.

Or load it into the torpedo tubes for use against enemy ships.

Would I eat Janeway's cooking?

It depends on what she's cooking.

It better be something simple such as pasta or beef stew, not some fancy exotic dish that no one has barely ever heard of. I personally don't like that, especially when served to guests for the very first time. :borg:

Photon/JM1776 :vulcan: Please tell me that didn't mean what JM1776's post made it look like it meant (i.e. what the thread title looks like on the main board).

Kidding aside ... I wouldn't presume to speak for Photon.

I was just being a bit vulgar, and not serious in the least. My apologies if it bothered anyone; it just seemed an amusing spot to use that Weyoun line.

"Yes, primarily because I like and/or respect Kathryn Janeway specifically and would like to spend time with her if she were real."

Plus, I have complete faith in the Doc... should something go wrong...

Of course I'd eat her cooking! This would be quite an opportunity, anyways, to dine with the captain of the ship. I'd grin and bear it - no matter what it tasted like. She is the captain, after all.

I personally think that she would make a great cook, no matter what anyone on the ship might say. She's a person who excels at everything.

As a 24th Century scientist, she's probably familiar with core concepts of chemistry. Cooking actually involves a lot of chemistry-like techniques (adding this, mixing that, etc.). So I think she'd be great.

Besides, compared to Neelix's cooking, anything would be a welcome relief! (Just kidding about that.)

And great cooking, like gardening or writing, is one of those things that often stymies people who are otherwise excellent at just about everything else, because it requires a certain intangible quality some simply don't and never will possess. I think it much more interesting from a characterization standpoint that cooking be something that consistently stymies our Kathy Sue. Someone who's good at everything is ... well, tiresome.

Now as far as replicator "cooking" goes ... you may be dead-on right.

Oh, and ... cooking is an art. Baking is a science.

Well, I wouldn't argue that it's likely to be an enjoyable experience, I'd just eat dinner properly before hand ;)

Ah, that intangible quality known as aesthetics. That's true enough, actually.

I'd still give it a try. After all, how likely would I be to get another chance to chitchat with the captain of a starship over dinner?
