My neighbor just went to the Cincinnati Zoo where she got to see sand cats. :)

Another sand cat video

Sand cats are small, four to eight pounds, and good hunters.

So I'm thinking that one of us should get some dik-diks and sand cats and turn their house into a miniature version of Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom.

Awww, I want one!

Me too!

But there are only something like 26 sand cats in the United States. That means we'll have to steal them from a zoo. I figure we slip in with an alligator, grab the cats, leave the gator, and the zoo keepers will assume the gator ate the kitties. :)

Then we jump in a windowless AMC van and speed away, while the wild little cats try to claw us to ribbons. :shifty:

Anyway, if anyone can cross-breed one of the sand cats with a domestic cat they'd make cat owner history. Have you seen Savannah cat hybrids?

The sand cats are much smaller and cuter. Plus, their species name is felis margarita!

It looks like somebody crossbred a cat with an antelope.

I dub thee "Cantalope!"

Seriously, hybridizing different animals is such a weird thing to do. Why haven't we crossed a human with anything yet?

What about the maned wolf? It looks like a fox on stilts.

Just think of the huge litterbox you'd need.
