Would you consider Andorians ICONIC to Star Trek?

Okay, I'm making a Campaign Setting for a Tabletop RPG and am making some of the iconic species availible for play. What I have so far:

Humans
Vulcans
Klingons
Romulans
Androids
The Borg (though, they're not technically a species, of course)

So here's what I'm wondering... I'm new to Star Trek and I just watched an episode of Enterprise that acted like "Oh, EVERYONE knows who the Andorians are!"... is this the case? Are the Andorians really an iconic element of Star Trek that people would regret not being in the game if I didn't add them? Or are they kinda fringe where nobody would really notice they're not an option for play?

Thanks for your input!

I think both are true- no-one would notice if you omitted them, but if you included them it's easy to see why, being a charter member of the Federation and all.

They're certainly not iconic in the true sense of the word, but they are pretty iconic within Trek fandom. I would say only make them playable if your players are really hard core Trek fans - particularly fans of TOS or ENT.

Just to chime in with one more opinion, I second what Bishop says here.

Cool! Thanks!

My guys are mainly fans of TNG and Seven of Nine (specifically :P ). So I think I'll leave them out until/unless I'm asked for them.

The Bolians became a substitute for the Andorians during TNG. If someOne hadn't thought the Antennae did look silly they would have been for all intents and purposes been the Andorians.
