Would You Change The StoryLine?

If I could, would change the storyline…

The Will Riker and Troy, would have made a good marriage, and telepathic children would have been really fun. Worf could have shown us some full on Klingon fun with various half or full Klingon women. All complimenting one another… Seems People thought Riker flirting was cute, so they didn’t want to change that, yet the attractions was smooth. As a kid, I remember audio book story with them stranded on planet, they had to sleep together nude and all etc… but of course both keep their composer and he sleeps in front. For me, I think it gave me a good example of a strong (then) story in which they are both desiring and respecting full self-control.. I don’t even know of another example, and even that example was never made into TV.

I think I’d have broken the make no inference clause, and maybe a civil federation war, supporting intervention, and then realizing that another species was only allowed to save the entire federation if they themselves allowed such intervention onto saving unworthy subspecies (comes off that way, doesn’t it)

Romulans… Picard was all into artifacts, and it was revealed that everyone in the sector was related, yet that never went anywhere, like there was a block on the development of Romulans. Maybe it was too much to do… as in if they are all united no conflict and its boring, too much conflict and its too chaotic?

Dr Crusher should have died as a character after they decided her son would no longer be this amazing important person, which was being setup. They didn’t use Jordi much either, if he had to diminish roles, perhaps to fulfill personal obligations, they should have just maxed his work and killed his character.

TNG was a family program. "Full on Klingon fun with full Klingon women" sounds like something that would have delighted Gene Rodenberry.

I think they underutilized the Borg. We got Q Who; Best of Both Worlds; I, Borg and Descent. There should have been another Borg menace to the Federation before I, Borg, but with some sort of twist to make it interesting. Missed opportunity.

I liked the non-romantic relationship between Riker and Troi. They were once very intimate but remain close friends and support for one another, their moments of flirting was very sweet as well, but I think they were better off pursing other partners--such as Troi and Worf, which I wish we'd seen more of.

I hate the idea of Federation Civil War, and over the Prime Directive is a stretch. It's the number one regulation in Starfleet for a reason, after all Starfleet officers aren't there to play god. It's tough and causes ethical debates and hard choices, but that's the point of having it.

More exploration of the Romulans would've been great to have seen. It's a shame they've been so underused and the Klingons so overused.

Wesley was always a genius/prodigy, that never changed, he simply chose a life that wasn't in Starfleet, which isn't the end of the world. As for killing her or La Forge off because they didn't do much is also somewhat excessive, simply develop stories that focus on them more or have them transfer on to other assignments, allowing them to make guest appearances later. For characters who aren't always on the bridge they are always going to seem more out of the action than those that are, it will just need crafty writing and character development to keep them in the loop.

It might have been Imzadi if it was an audiobook he listened to.

I also hate the idea of a Federation civil war.

The Prime Directive might have been interesting to explore its origins. Maybe some FUBAR scenario before it was enacted in which the UFP made things worse by trying to help, factions within nearly tore it apart, or one it which it was nearly destroyed from without.
