Re: Would you be interested in seeing a JJ Trek movie... in real-time?
No offence to the OP, but I love these ever so slightly loaded questions. The "Would you like to eat pumpkin if it tasted like ice cream?" sort of thing. I mean most people are going to be interested in a "mind-bogglingly fantastic" script of any sort, yet despite that massive distortion, the real-time theme still only has currently about 58% of the vote. So given that the script is not likely to be mind-bogglingly fantastic, about 37% will drop back into the last catergory. Which is closer to what I would have expected, based solely on "real-time" popularity with respect to Star Trek. Anyway, I prefer my Star Trek movies to have both!
I think 24 was popular because the quality was good enough, not because anyone was in love with the "real time" gimmick. That is of course a guess. I've never asked a fan. But I think it probably would have done just as well if it had be called 66 or 94.
So sorry, apart form maybe being a little more "immediate", I don't think you gain anything.
