Would Gilbert Gottfried have made a good Ferengi?

Might have made a good Klingon too. Not sure why, but he could have been the American version of Brian Blessed...

He was a funny comedian. Left us too soon.

I think he could have fit somewhere in Trek. He and Shawn Wallace sounded alike, brothers perhaps.

ETA: I just found out that "recently passed away" meant today.

I kind of like the idea if they combined the idea of Zek and Quark and Rom's dad being brothers. Zek was the Quark in their brotherly relationship and Quark/Rom's dad was the Rom. Not good at business but like pointed out good at being a dad.
 
Love that idea.... I'm not sure if he was a fan of Trek, but that would've made a great way to introduce him.

How about as a Vorta, in a much different portrayal?

I mean, if Iggy Pop can do it...

Apparently Gilbert Gottfriend was only 5'3"? So, definitely meets the height requirement! Definitely seems like a missed opportunity.
