worst sci-fi TV series of post 1964

Somehow, your über dour reaction doesn't surprise me.

Well, you should have known better than to make a sick joke like that.

In case you didn't know this, a sick crime like that is nothing to laugh about.

Talk about having no respect.

Malakai was not making light of the crime of child molestation. Malakai was making light of your over reaction by implying that your response was so over the top and out of proportion that you must have suffered something truly tramatic like such abuse at the hands of a scifi writer (who wrote a remake) to act as you are acting.

But of course instead of seeing something so obvious you misunderstood and went off on another nonsensical rant.

It's been years since I've seen it, but my recollection is of finding it somewhat tedious, in the way that the less enjoyable TNG episodes often were. ("Masterpiece Society" comes to mind as the Ur-example.) Perhaps it would be worth a revisit to see how I feel now, but my opinions of the other TNG episodes have stayed consistent over time so it seems unlikely it would change much.

The much better Dennis Bailey episode is "First Contact," which I love.

That is a really good ep. :)

This. Thanks for clarifying, too, because I just wiped out my own explanation to that effect while editing my above post. Le sigh.

As a group, we tend to be righter than you. Especially Dennis and Harvey. They're always righter than you.

I have to agree with Expo that it's not really a joking matter. I'll admit I'm not above that kind of humor myself sometimes, but you have to pick your audience.

On the other hand, trying to drag in the RDM/First Contact thing is either another ad hominem or just plain non sequitur.

Anyway, I'm sure Expo is guilty of something in Latin (even aside from eas in crucem). :p

Eh. To each their own, I suppose, but it's not really supposed to bring laughter. It's a bit of hyperbole trying to draw attention to how histrionic Expo is being. Everything he says is absurd.

More like typical arrogant and close-minded nonsense from where I'm standing.

Physician, heal thyself.

I'm certain there is a sin that I have committed in Latin. Who hasn't.

Unlike some, I admit when I am wrong. What I can't stand is the fact that some can't admit it when they are wrong. They have to take this arrogant and close-minded stance.

Not only is that infuriating...it is also illogical(as the Vulcans would point out).

And you don't think that everything you have said is absurd?

Ah, a variant of the classic "I'm rubber, you're glue" gambit. Clearly, I war with a Titan.

War with a Titan? It sounds more like a variant of the classic clash between Titan and Olympian. A metaphor of the old vs. new dispute. Something that could also be equated with the dispute between the staunch, conservative Baby Boomer Generation and the liberal Generation X youth of the late Sixties.

All that aside, this dispute has taken this thread away from the subject at hand. That being the worst sci-fi TV series of post 1964.

Let's get back on track and stick to the main topic at hand, despite the differences of opinions.

Consider that my final word in the matter.

Gomtuu was one of my favorite one-off aliens as a kid and I loved that the episode did something useful with Betazoids. The theme of loneliness really worked for me too.

Plus, it's always good to have dastardly Romulans being dastardly.

Sounds plausible to me. I only dimly recall that episode.

Have we all forgotten such "classics" as Beyond Westworld, Automan, Mercy Point, NightMan, and Project UFO?

Literally didn't have a clue of what any of those were, so I went and wikied them.

.

For my sins, I remember all of them.

As do I.

Someone mentioned the series I think it the actual winner of worst ever above. Homeboys from Outer Space. I don't think I have every heard anyone admit they like that series.

Thanks for the kind words about my work. :)

"First Contact" isn't a show that I can claim nearly as much credit (or blame) for as "Tin Man" - there were quite a few writers on FC, and I suspect the most influential on its final form was Michael Piller - but I'm certainly pleased to be associated with it.

Truly, the oldBSG of science fiction sitcoms (thin though that genre may be).

But... Doohan's character was named Pippen! If that's not comic gold, I don't know what is!
