Worst Line in all of Trekdom

Nearly every line from Symbiosis:

Wesley: How can a chemical substance provide an escape?
Tasha: It doesn't. But it makes you think it does.

Wesley: I guess I just don't understand.
Tasha: Wesley, I hope you never do.

"Captain...I'm frightened."

I cringe every time I hear Uhura utter that line in City on the Edge of Forever. She manages to undo a whole season of respectability in one sentence.
Why? You've never been frightened?

Sure, but I never whined to my commanding officer about it!

Can you imagine if Doohan had been given that line?
I dunno. Suppose Doohan had been given that line to say to a female character. I don't think that would have necessarily been bad. Men and women relate to each other differently than they do to members of their own sex. I see what you're saying, of course, but I also don't think it necessarily means she's less competent or destroys her respectability because she chose to reveal to Kirk that, in an absolutely dire situation, she was legitimately frightened.

Wesley Crusher: "I'm with Starfleet. We don't lie."
And from the same episode, "...there are some games I... uh, don't quite know yet..." At the rate he was going, it's probably a good thing the Traveler took Wesley under his wing.

I don't think anything will ever top the Gazelle speech, though.

"Someday my people are going to come up with some sort of a doctrine, something that tells us what we can and can't do out here, should and shouldn't do. But until somebody tells me that they've drafted that directive I'm going to have to remind myself every day that we didn't come out here to play God."
-- Jonathan Archer, right after playing God (an evil, genocidal god...)

There's a fun drinking game that I invented involving that episode!

1. Gather a supply of your favorite beverage.

2. Drink every time you find yourself saying aloud, "That doesn't make any sense!"

3. Pass out by the second commercial.

:guffaw: Best. Idea. Ever.

Even as an overexcited 14 year old fanboy, this was the point I thought something was seriously wrong with Voyager
It took you 5 years to realize something was wrong? That became apparent the second Neelix character debuted in "Caretaker," but you were 9 and can't be blamed, I guess... ;)

I was very naive (read: stupid). I still didn't figure out I stopped enjoying Voyager until about a month ago when I was watching repeats on TV. I knew something was wrong, but couldn't put my finger on it. :alienblush:

Just to keep this post on topic, my second vote would be:
"We believe the Makers created the Chosen Realm in nine days. They believe it took ten."
"For that, you've been at war for over a century?"
-Crazy tattooed religious dude and Captain Archer, Chosen Realm.

Poo-pooing religion subtly in one line. The same way killing a spider in the bath with an armoured tank is subtle :p

^ I actually thought Shatner did pretty good on his delivery of that line and that the scene worked pretty well. McCoy was grumpier than ever when he beamed aboard, and that was the moment at which he realized how much Kirk needed him and what his friendship meant.
