Worst Human ally !

EmoBorg

I was looking the list of alien species that were aillied or friendly to humans and i do find that the Vulcans/Romulans race perhaps as the most least liked humans aillies

Vulcans = arrogant and pretentious
Romulans = arrogant and cunning
( Romulans were aillies during the Dominion War )

The andorians,tellarite, klingons, trills, betazoid & benzite were okay once you get past their cultural quirks but the Vulcans/Romulans race seem to be arrogant with or without their logic.

According to Archer they held Humanity back by refusing to share their more advanced warp tech with the humans.

Too violent and unpredictable to be trusted with that sort of thing...

I'm confused....how are Vulcans bad allies exactly?

Well during the Star Trek Enterprise show, Captain Archer did complain about the Vulcans treating humans in an arrogant manner.

Fast Forward to 200 years later, in DS9 season 7 episode "Take Me Out To The Holosuit" the Vulcan Captain Solok of the Federation starship T'Kumbra was very distainful of humans calling them too emotional.

Vulcans are entitled to their views but it is not nice saying that to people's face

I don't see how the Andorians were depicted as being any more respectful or reliable allies. I loved Shran, and wish a S5 of Enterprise could've been made with him as a regular, but, he was pretty rude in the beginning, and that was typical of Andorians. Where were the Andorians during the Dominion War, never saw a one of them throughout the entire series, nor any mention of them.

IIRC, he thought the antennae were a silly idea, mostly because the prosthetic/appliances had not looked very convincing in their various incarnations on screen.

(I strongly suspect someone will chime in shortly with much better info on the subject!....)

busy fighting the Dominion off-camera the same as the rest of Starfleet
Never mentioned, never saw one, never a seat at the table...
Before ENT Andorians were Bermanbanned. Talk about blueba**s...
Oh, thanks, I never knew that, I really enjoyed their look and portrayal in ENT, so, maybe it's for the best they weren't used prior to ENT. If Berrman thought they looked so silly, and had used them, he may have really damaged them by making them look silly, and then we never would've gotten Shran :bolian:

I have to agree that the Klingons are unworthy allies. There is something very, very problematic with the Federation supporting an empire that conquers and slaughters (but somehow it's OK since it's not on the Federation border :rolleyes: ) yet daring to criticize that behavior from others.

Yeah, and look at the Klingons barbarism during their war with the Feds in DS9.
Anyway, I don't think Solok is representative of most Vulcans. I'd like to think Vulcans like Vorik/Taurek and Tuvok were more representative.

It wasn't just Solok. His whole crew went along with it and no one stood up and had the guts to point out that it was wrong to badger Sisko and his crew that way.

Yeah it was just one of quite a few times where the writers of DS9 made the future seem a little less perfect just for the hell of it, like Kassidy's father being a "pastor"...ugh.

And Kasidy's dad being a pastor makes the future "less perfect" how? :confused:

For there to be no such people on a future Earth would not imply perfection. It would imply that a slaughter took place or other forcible "re-education." In contrast, where there is a peaceful change in culture, a minority, even if a small one, remains.

(As far as religion on Earth in the Trekiverse, I do tend to suspect something violent happened. So for me, confirmation of survivors helped make it seem at least a little less devastating, what happened.)
