What part was the best of Trek? The closing credits?As an ENT loyalist, I voted for TATV.
As a TOS loyalist, I voted for ATCSL, to paraphrase Spock (and Dickens): It was the best of Trek, it was the worst of Trek.

I meant TOS as a whole was the best of Trek and the worst of Trek. The worst, obviously was ATCSL, whilst other episodes qualify as the best.
TATV? Oh come on.
Give me "And the Children Shall Lead" vs. "A Night in Sickbay". Then we've got ourselves a real competition.

I voted for ATCSL, because it's so horribly cringe-worthy! Man, that episode is embarrassing!
Like I've stated before, I don't think TATV is so bad at all... it just sucks as a series finale. But there's much, much worse. I'll watch that over Spock's brain any day (despite the character assassinations).

ATCSL was a bit like a veeeeery bad drug trip. Not that I would know anything about that, of course.
Indeed, any kid who desires to take certain mind altering substances should watch ATCSL 12 times in a row as a preview for the absurdity and horror that awaits. And with the warning, "Now imagine you can't turn it off because it's in your head! MUH ha ha ha!"
For this public service use, ATCSL should not receive worst episode honors.
Then again, maybe it should, for the exact same reasons.

Like the Democratic primaries, the candidates on the final ballot are the result of filtering through the special-interest groups that control each series' forum. Here in GenTrek, you're more like a superdelegate making the final, crucial decisions in a close race.
There are many (many!) episodes that are technically worse than either of these (some of them were in the pre-runoff version of this poll), but my hatred for TATV outstrips all such petty technical concerns. Down with TATV! DOWN WITH TATV!

As someone who likes "Star Trek" I voted for "And The Children Shall Lead."
As much as I'm not particularly fond of either of those episodes, I think there is much worse Trek out there than either TATV or ATCSL.
TATV wasn't that bad. It just wasn't that good of a series finale. I prefer it to Endgame, actually. Now that was a cop-out series finale.

The poll is now officially closed, and And The Children Shall Lead has emerged as TrekBBS's Least Liked Episode. Even though it was my personal pick from early on, I am a bit surprised that it won. I wasn't sure it would take the TOS Season Three title, let alone the whole thing.

Not my choice for the worst, but when you do a Survivor style poll, the outcome isn't always what you expect.
