After a couple of months of voting to determine the TrekBBS's least favorite episode from each season, we have now reached the end. The seven episodes that were voted worst from each season are listed - please select your LEAST favorite. The episode receiving the most votes will be named TrekBBS's least favorite episode of TNG and will go against the least favorites from the other series to determine an overall winner (or loser, depending on how you look at it). Thanks for your participation!

Code of Dishonor

As I say constantly Im a real hater of the whole "aliens who look like humans" thing, but Code of Honor wasn't THAT bad, if you ignore that fact.

Cost of Living therefore takes the cake.

Aquiel and Force of Nature were actually ok.

At least Cost of Living wasn't racist. Also, it's generally not a good sign when the actors themselves (!) say they dislike an episode and consider it racist.

Aquiel [was] actually ok.
Agreed. Am a sucker for Geordi episodes. ;)

I think I have a soft spot for Aquiel because, as a kid I hated ST, then watched one episode when I was around 10, the one where Worf kills Duras, didn't watch any for a while then when bored in the video store saw a STTNG video (ahh the days of VHS) and rented it, it was the only ST video of any of the series in the store, it had two episodes, Aquiel and the one where Deanna is a romulan, watched them both 5-6 times and got hooked.

Code of Honor racist? I heard that before but I can't think how?

I voted for Code of Honor. As I said back in the season one polls, I think the racism perceived in the episode springs from some poor choices in production issues like costuming more so than the script, so I find the charges against it understandable but somewhat overstated.

Having said that, it's still a bad episode. For me, it was between Code of Honor and Shades of Gray, and Shades of Gray at least has clips of some episodes I did like, so I gave it a reprieve.

I'm voting on the basis of the episode I would be least likely to pick out and rewatch, and for that, my vote goes to Aquiel. I just can't sit through it.

Code of Honor and Shades of Gray are undeniably bad episodes, but I still find them entertaining and don't mind spending an hour to watch them. Aquiel I can't do that with.

Cost of Living is painful, but I can sit through it as well because I'm one of the crazy few Lwaxana fans. The Price grates on me but has a few good moments. Suddenly Human and Force of Nature I've each only seen once, a good 10 years ago.

Well, I don't agree with all the decisions season by season, but Code of Honor is really a terrible episode and one of Trek's most ridiculous interpretations of the prime directive. Episode-wise, let's examine the cost-benefit analysis. When Picard's security officer is abducted forcefully, he decides to "play along" while she fights the leader's mate to the death; meanwhile people are dying by the hundreds while the leader withholds the vaccine they came to the planet to retrieve. To top of all off, the aliens of this primitive, tribe-like planet are cast only by African Americans with fake, African accents. When you really examine this episode, it may be worse even than Voyager's "Threshold".

And to be clear, "Shades of Gray" doesn't really qualify as an episode for me. It was written out of necessity during a writer's strike.

It must be "Shades Of Gray". That episode was.......just boring.

The others on the list are not that bad.

It absolutely has to be the 2nd season finale "Shades of Gray". That was absolutely foul and should have never aired. I mean a glorified "Clip Show"? Please! It ranks up there with TOS: "Spock's Brain", DS9's "Move Along Home" , and Voy's "Threshold" as the crappiest of all Trek, IMHO! :(

Although I dislike clip shows, I had to go for 'Code of Honor', as it's embarrassingly bad.....

Just as an inane point.
Lutans people didn't seem very advanced and probably didn't have warp drive..they should not have been talkin to them at all perhaps?

I voted Shades of Grey, though I suppose one could argue that it doesn't even qualify as an episode.
"Cost of Living", isn't that a S6 Lwaxana episode? Come on, Worf in the mud bath is worth the price of admission alone :) I can see how some would find that episode annoying, personally I loved it and found it had one of the best overall messages.

'Shades of Gray'

I'd rather watch dodgy TOS rip-offs than a clip show covering the two worst seasons of a series.
