Voting on the first round for the third season is now complete. There was a three way tie for fifth place, so this round we have the top seven to choose from. Reminder: this time you can choose ONE. The episode receiving the most votes will face off against "The Alternative Factor" and "The Omega Glory" for the title of TrekBBS's least favorite episode of TOS.

I had to go with Spock's Brain, though most of the others are just as deserving. I'm really surprised that so many dislike Turnabout Intruder, its always been a favorite of mine.

And The Children Shall Lead normally wins these kind of votes but I think Plato's Stepchildren is a bigger piece of crap. With Children, the producers were trying to appeal to a target market: kids. That was poor judgement and looks terrible today, but Plato's is a totally recycled episode. Outside of the interracial kiss and a midget, there was nothing new here that Star Trek hadn't done both before and better. Star Trek had alrady gone Greek with Adonais, lost its free will while on This Side of Paradise, and had performed for aliens' pleasure on Triskelion. Plato's is the bastard stepchild.

It has its flaws, but I also like Turnabout Intruder. I particularly like Sandra Smith's performance as Kirk.

I had to vote for And The Children Shall Lead. This episode is physically painful for me to watch. At least Spock's Brain has the classic line "Brain and brain! What is brain?"

Any episode with a lawyer as a guest star gets my vote. Fortunately, there's only one. Here's another vote for And the Children Shall Lead.

Voted for Children.

I'm another who's always found Turnabout Intruder to be a hoot, setting aside the 60s sexism. Plato's Stepchildren though is one of the handful of TOS episodes I still haven't seen.

Tough choice, as Way to Eden and Plato's Stepchildren annoy me.

But not as much as those BRATTY kids.

As for Turnabout Intruder? It's more apt to be in my top twenty list, not the bottom ten!

Hail, hail, fire and snow
call the angel, we will go
far away, for to see

Still, Kara and Luma continue to give me chubbies.

"Wood and wood, what is wood? It is inappropriate...is it not?"

Have to agree with you both there.

In Spock's Brain, I like the close-up shot of McCoy with the blue light from beneath. It reminds me of some old silent horror film - McCoy looks like some deranged mad-scientist.
