Hold it.
Mach5,
commie, take a breath.
I said in another thread that it's important that everyone respect each other's opinions, no matter how much they may disagree. That's essential in
every thread, regarding
every topic. It's the only way discussion will remain civil and respectful.
Each viewer has their own unique, subjective perspective on which episode or character works or doesn't work. One person's worst episode will invariably be on someone else's Top Ten List, and vice versa. There are as many opinions about
Enterprise as there are viewers. Diversity is what makes the world go 'round.
Your opinion is as valid as anyone else's. But no matter how strongly you believe in your own opinion, or how forcefully you state it, it remains
your own subjective opinion. You can disagree all you want with others, but it's not correct to tell them, or even imply, that they're wrong in what they believe.
There is no "right" or "wrong" about personal opinion.
We're all passionate about
Trek and
Enterprise. Sometimes in our zeal to get our point across, we might state our personal opinion as if it were fact, as in, "That was the worst episode, hands down! No argument! Absolute drek!"...Rather than saying "
In my opinion, that episode really sucked," or "
I believe..." or "
From what I saw..."
Sure, we all know we're expression subjective views here. But it helps to acknowledge to others--and remind ourselves--that we realize that. It keeps folks from taking things the wrong way, or inadvertently taking offense, and it keeps the atmosphere from getting unpleasant for everyone.
I caution you all strongly not to confront each other personally when you disagree. Focus on the
post, not the poster.
Remember, there is plenty of room in the world for different points of view.
