Worst Case Scenerio (Season 3, Episode 23)

I just re watched "Worst Case Scenario", the second last episode to feature Seska (the next would be "Fractured" in Season 7).

Plot: B'Elanna finds an old tactical scenario program that Tuvok had half-written prior to deleting it; unfortunately Seska found it first.

This was an interesting Holodeck adventure, and one I don't think TNG ever did: a what-if mutiny.

It's interesting to note that Tuvok mentions that by the time of this episode, Seska has been dead for over a year (he mentions this just after Paris and him are thrown out of sickbay by the deranged Doctor). Seska died in "Basics, Part 2", which my DVD cover gives a Stardate of 50032.7 for, while "Worst Case Scenario" has a date of 50953.4. So, apparently Season 3 and the '50xxx.x' stardate's ran for longer than 12 months.

I was also noticing how, on the DVD, on all the green screen/split screen shots the picture quality dropped quite a bit (this was over HDMI), to where you could tell the different layers. Also the text message from the real Janeway (in the Jefferies Tube scene)was a composite dot crawl mess, not to mention that the exteriors of Voyager were looking about as good as the E-D in TNG's first 3 seasons. Overall the quality went from sharp and vibrant to muddy and soft all throughout the episode. Whenever CBS gets around to doing an HD remaster, it's going to look a lot better than the current D2 master that was used for the DVD.

Otherwise, it was a fun episode to re watch, and it was a really interesting way to bring Seska back.
