Man, I've never done anything like this before, but someday I think I'm going to. What a blast this must have been. Now, to decide which era suits me the most... if I post a picture, would anyone be so kind as to recommend a uniform type they feel best suits my features? I would be quite grateful. I'm pretty much the anti-Garak when it comes to fashion sense and I'd love to show up in style.

If this winds up considered solicitation somehow, fair enough. I'm just concerned I'd show up totally improper-like.

You're cute, Jeff O'Connor! As far as uniform type, I think you would look good in TNG 3rd season... choose your color based on your interests (red for command, blue for science, gold for engineering). The Voyager style jumpsuits would look good on you, too. VOY style would be easier to make and, because they have a more loose fit, they look better on real-world bodies.

Probably saves you a lot of overheating that the actor would've had to deal with!

But really, back to my point...I think there are many costumes for all figures and types. You've just got to know what you've got and how ti pick or make clothes to suit.

Now this may sound really silly, but there are a lot of things I would never be able to wear, as a woman, because of being too small up top. If I had to pick a Trek uniform and had the resources to do it, I'd probably wind up going with the ENT design (also because it's basically a nice, comfortable flight suit, which would be convenient at a con)...it would de-emphasize the lack of assets quite nicely.

I also KNOW I could get into a Cardassian uniform very nicely--without any design alterations to the cuirass.

Thanks, Sector 7! Voyager Season 3, eh? Then a red Voyager Season 3 uniform it is. I'll keep this on my mental backburner until the time is right and remember your reply.

Indeed, about the loose fits, too. I'm fairly average, maybe a little athletic, but I'm no Olympian. Those tight suits scare me.
