Leading up to the release how much press, promotion and cast interviews will there be across the world for the movie? Do you think it'll get treated as an ordinary movie or becuase it's Star Trek will it get major publicity with each member of the cast being interviewed and doing publicity peieces at least once up to and after the Movie has been released?

Any thoughts?

I imagine all the major cast members have "promotional" clauses in their contracts, so interviews with all of them are very likely.

Once he's allowed to talk openly about the film Simon Pegg will be simulcasting Trek interviews world-wide every eight minutes, 24/7.

This will represent a 25% increase over his press availability for the film right now.

That's SOP. You can expect to see them all, out and about, talking about their movie and gushing about how great the director/producer is, how amazing the script is, how revolutionary the FX are and how brilliant an actor so-and-so is.

Who cares... bring on the phasers!

And the followup: If that was the case would they be able to stop the trailer from appearing online ahead of the US release date?

No and because of the first No then No

Remember they want a big reveal so its likely the trailers will be tagged to either whats already out or the biggest film at the time when it is added to Bond in November. They know full well that if it comes out at the end of the week it will only take a day before some version of it appears on the Internet.

Even though this is a movie so they need International success and not just a US one they wont put it out earlier than they wanted. Just means that we non US people are gonna have to wait for something else we want to see to see it on the big screen or just download it when it appears online.

Dunno if this has been said anywhere, but the other night Zachary Quinto presented an award at the UK National TV awards, before he came out to present the award they played a scene from Heroes but when he came onto the stage they played the title music from the original Star Trek.

Nice subtle promotion there, doubt it would have anything to do with the production but good all the same.
