Welp, it's almost here.

Kind of psyched honesly. BfA was very meh, there were nice things about it (the music is excellent) but it did some major fails. When BfA was first announced everyone said it was a filler xpac and I didn't get what that meant but I do now. SO this next one should be great, yeah?

Okay I'll go first. I'd already assumed my main would go with Maldraxxus, I'm a kind of a long term rp'er as far as the main goes. Then when I saw that Draka, mother of Thrall was in Maldraxxus I had a very emotional moment.

The short film thingies have been great, and in case anyone missed it Tim Russ (aka Tuvok) is in one of them.Very familiar voice!

I see no one is playing this Xpac but me. I guess most of you wandered off in WoD, at the latest, and haven't come back.

So far it's fine. Very quick leveling. Music is very very very underwhelming which is pissing me off as I've had the music on permanently since Legion when they just excelled on that front. BfA had some gems too. I couldn't even tell you what the music in this xpac is, all very vague, atmospheric, kind of wooooo woooooooooooo

What do I like so far.. umm made about 100k selling herbs and ore in one day. Otherwise I like the, so far not fanwanky at all, return of several characters. I mean we are in the realm of the dead and WoW has a LOT of dead. I won't spoil it, but there's something that is just so.. Okay I can't even add an adjective in case I spoil it

Only done 3 realms so far, last one I'll do tomorrow.

Bastion: creepy cult heads

Maldraxxus: Everything is GREEN and full of pounding, powerful death. Also poison.

Ardenweald: I feel like the whole zone is Teldrassil's dead spirit.

Vampire land next! Yay!

Also let me share with you all, the many readers of this thread, that I did NOT know that coursers were all going to suddenly be given flying ability. I did not know this until my Pureheart Courser suddenly.. lifted in the air.. so that was pretty cool.

You are not alone. I ractivated my account a month ago. The last time a really played (seriously but still casually) was during WoTLK
I played sometimes later but I didn't have the time. My main from that time is lost somewhere in Myst of Pandaria.

So I leveled up a new character on BfA and it was 50 just on time for SL.

Things have changed since WoTLK, there is a story when leveling now

I am still in Bastion so it's too soon to say if I like it or not or if I will stay at all in the game. I also need to read the lore because I am somewhat lost

I started playing again a little in the weeks leading up to SL. Catching up on some of the story I'd missed in BfA. Finished the Fourth War at least. Still handing threads for N'Zoth's plot as I missed much of 8.2 and such.

Only really played SL yesterday. Got through the end of the Maldraxxus arc and will be heading to Ardenweald next. Maldraxxus reminds me of a slightly friendlier (but deadlier) Eastern Plaguelands. Baston sort of reminds me of Outland is its visuals.

Still unclear what happened exactly. I know what the major event was, but its a question of who's soul did that much damage to the system? When is also a hard concept, since the Uther bit had to happen before Sylvannas encountered the Jailer (since she didn't attempt suicide until after Arthus was defeated at Icecrown. The drought was caused because something attacked....but what, when, and why? Can we assume it was the Void? Or was it Sylvannas/Jailer? And are they actually working together to mass an army to fight the Void now that the Old Gods have been defeated. Or is it the Light they will fight? Or, knowing Slyvannas, both?

One thing I think is great is that the quests for the campaign which advance you through the zones to the point of covenant choice are now marked with a shield shape. I have been only doing those which has been excellent, not sure when I go back and do all the side quests.

This world seems kind of small? I don't know, I recall people saying that about BfA too.

As to @Ithekro trying to figure out what is going on.. I HAVE NO IDEA lol. I'm still wondering why Vol'jin picked Sylvanas?

What character do you have @Shaytan ? Welcome back! The only one I skipped was MoP, but I went back and did it all during WoD as my goal was to be exalted with everybody (which I achieved, 108 reps at exalted, and now the grind begins anew).

Odd question. What would happen if a World Soul was dumped into the Shadowlands? That is a massively powerful soul. Like say, the soul of Argus the Unmaker that we dispatched at the end of Legion?

What if that was the red soul that took out the Arbiter? That would mean that, again, this is (sort of) our fault.

I play a troll druid balance/resto. I usually prefer to play healer in a group. I finished the first dungeon, I need to work on that I think

I am in Maldraxxus now and nearly level 55, the leveling is fast going fast.

60 only yesterday (I took my time).

I reasonably liked every places. I think they have good and bad points each.

Bastion looks good but the quests are somewhat boring (for me) and I didn't like ancient greece during my history student years so...

Maldraxxus was a lot more fun than anticipated. I enjoyed questing here and it reminds me of Western Plaguelands (Maleterres de l'Ouest).

Ardenweald (Sylvarden) is beautiful and the quests are nice, especially at the end of the zone but I found it a little childish. As a druid, this is my covenant and the introduction quests of the covenant part were very fun, more than expected.

Revendreth was gothic cliché but I loved Venthyrs, their lines are the best. I am actually thinkink of a reroll with RP in mind that will end here.

Dragonflight comes out in a week. Saw a cinematic for the prelaunch event, and it reminded me just how good Khadgar's theme is.

I am so behind that I just got flying in the Shadowlands. I was spending a lot of the last two years playing World of Warships or Stellaris (or just not playing anything.)

So far Dragonflight zones are beautiful. The quests don't feel bad (though there are quite a few alternative reading of words puns in the quest names in the Ohn'ahran Plains. Dragon riding skills make for some need to think about how you will fly someplace, as it takes some physics into account. I still use mostly my ground mount from the Black Harvest quest chains, and at this time use the second dragon riding mount (Emerald Drake) more than the original red proto-dragon, and I still dislike the huge wingspan of the proto-dragons on the ground. Prefer smaller mounts that don't block stuff around me. Only at level 68 in the Azure Span currently (though I nearly made it to level 61 finishing up some quests in Shadowlands to complete the story before I headed off to the Dragon Isles.).
