World Of Warcraft - Legion

Pumped to start my Demon Hunter tomorrow! Intending her to be my main for Legion.

I'll start my DH today then move on to getting some 700 gear from the invasions for all the alts. My warrior made it to 97 last night, took just over 72hrs /played to do it. Would have been more efficient to break for a few days at a time to build up some rested xp, but I was enjoying the carnage he could do too much. Whirlwind damage starts to taper off at the higher levels and now I actually have to use a rotation of abilities to kill quickly instead of just spamming whirlwind once or twice.

Played the DH through the intro. Not really impressed. The intro was pretty bad as far as learning the character abilities. Unlike the DK were you got one or two new things every quest or so, with DH you have like 3 abilities right up till the end and then boom they drop the rest of them on you in one fell swoop. wtf?

The invasions are pretty fun, but don't try to do the same invasion location twice back to back, you won't get any rewards the second time.

The scenario is a little long to slog through gonna be sick of it by the time I get all the alts done with it.

I really think they did an great job with the DK - everything about it was amazing, there was a real sense of wonder back then because it was a really special thing for a Warcraft guy to finally meet Arthas (and basically establish a relationship here way before reaching Northrend). The starting zone and quests were incredibly well done, and back then there was no reason to think phasing could also eventually become a very bad thing for the game world.

That's not how I remember the starting zone at all from doing it in beta. You would start with Fel Rush, Demon's Bite and Chaos Strike and then earn the rest either as quest rewards or from stealing the abilities from demon mobs.

It has one big advantage: it's short. The thought of doing the DK starting zone again used to make me quail.. somehow I did it 5 times

The double jumping and gliding is VERY fun.

Yeah. Do you want to hear them? It is just soooooo interesting to hear other people talk about the super important things to do in games. Three of them are on the same server!

1st DK, my main, my beloved.
2nd DK, one of those "come play with us on OUR server" deals, and then they basically quit. This one had a bunch of gold and mats and a very expensive item I sold on that server and then transferred her to my server during the Great Pristine Black Diamond market disaster of pre-Cata. You had to be doing the Insane title at the time to understand.
3rd DK, also a result of the Insane title. Needed an inscriptionist back in the old days when DMF reputation was gained by card deck turn ins. She has such a great name and is so silly looking I will never delete her.
4th DK. Until very recently if you created a DK and never pledged your allegiance you could attack the NPC's of your own faction in your own cities and kill them. When chased by Elite guards you could avoid being killed by jumping into the barber's chair or the dungeon in SW to go out of phase. It was the best fun ever and caused mass confusion especially if i teamed up with other people, at one point we had a pack of five of us, all gnomes. People spent years whispering me that I was going to get banned but several xpacs went by and Blizz just finally took that ability out.
5th DK. I always thought a female dwarf DK was oddly hilarious and one day I made one, on a server I meant to try out but have since abandoned. But I like her and will use her as a template if I make one on what has become my permanent Alliance server.

these kinds of people are why we can't have nice things, they're the same people that hated the zombie plague event because it interrupted their daily exciting schedule of idling and running between the mailbox and the AH

these are the kinds of people that would have way more fun in a completely walled-off, singleplayer kind of experience, but instead they're in an MMORPG world with other people in it, demanding that it remain completely static and disruption free - they are playing the wrong kind of game

they make me sick

But half the time these people are like 16 years old!

In the future they will be 30 years old and posting on forums all kinds of get off my lawn shit.

Stuff like the zombie invasion could be handled in future with phasing. Have the insane chaotic version of a city if you want that, or a business-as-usual one if you don't.

I'm sure a lot of them are, but given WoW's demographics, a ton of them are on the other end of the age spectrum as well

which would make me lose interest in the event completely, but of course that's a personal preference (I actually like my multiplayer games to include, you know, multiple players doing things ;))

The zombie days were the BEST days! I love the chaos, there were many funny things you could do with it. Blizzard often uses immersion as an excuse not to do stuff, well that was the ultimate immersion. Making it phased with an opt out, ugh. No.

I get why the Legion ones are phased, once you've done them you can't see them. It just gives everyone an opportunity no matter what the time to do them.. but I'm hoping towards the end when the invasions are coming every half hour they make it pretty much impossible to get stuff done in those zones at least.

After I saved Kharanos from the Burning Legion and they were all dead the stupid dwarf guards chased me and shot at me! They were completely ungrateful for me putting my orc ass on the line for their silly town.

And yeah @SPCTRE the demographic is a lot older these days, true. The guilds I'm in have people from 18 to 70.

Hit 100 with the warrior today. Managed to get all 9 alts through the broken shore scenario including the warrior. Ran each alt through at least one invasion yesterday and 2 today. already starting to get duplicate fel gear. The invasions are pretty fun, but damn the corpse walks in some of those old zones are LONG.

I took one of my pathetic ones to an invasion, parked him in an out of the way spot and made some toast. Came back, all was done and he had new gear.

Yeah, I would have thought BLizz would have made sure you at least tagged some mobs in each stage of an invasion to get the rewards. Otherwise, everyone will just start afk'ing it.

Did you get one chest or two? The invasion gives two total.
