World of Tanks keeps crashing

Not Windows 10, but XBox One is based off the Windows 10 engine, from what I understand. When it used to crash for me, I got the impression that it didn't know who I was when I was logging in. Instead of querying my identity, it would just dump me back out to the OS. This sounds like a similar problem, which has since been fixed on the XBox version.

The only thing I can think to say is that make sure you have the latest version of the game. They patch things all the time and this may be a known issue. Adjusting the compatibility mode like Chris said above may also help. If all else fails, you could always go to the WoT forum to see if others are having the problem and what's being done about it.

My advice is to stop playing World of Tanks.

Windows 10 is acting in your best interest.

This. :techman:

What makes you say that? It's one of the best multiplayer games with a very high quality that's not pay to win (though it makes it a hell of a lot easier and faster to "level up" if you put in some money occasionally).

I'm just curious about the reasoning.

I am being facetious of course, or at least exaggerating the thumbing of my nose at F2P games.

Imagine me as a Monopoly man type caricature with a thick, posh accent, laughing about the unwashed masses that are playing these types of games, thinking them to be actual video games.*

*(In actuality, they're simply not my cup of tea but of course I do realize that there are gems out there. WoT actually seems pretty damn good (much like Warframe).)

Of course the company wants to earn money with it and they are (rightfully) banking on the notion that gamers are impatient people and would rather spend a little money to get a speed boost than slog through it by skill and luck alone.

It's a remarkably well done game and can be tactically very deep (though in public games better not expect any good tactics due to the diversity of the gamers and their skill levels.. having a high level vehicle doesn't automatically mean he knows how to use it well, it just means that he has played long enough to be able to buy it).

For a F2P game it should be considered an AAA title and even when compared to other commercial games by well known publishers it's well done, it just lacks shiny cutscenes and dramatic storytelling.. it's just a pure MMO battle game with no frills attached and many people like this.
