My only problem with the Netherlands winning this game is, that now I'm scared of Germany winning the title again, whereas with Brazil still in it I wasn't worried about that...

More like the 90s. The World Cup final 1990 was the first time I actually watched a football game on TV. I suppose my parents later came to rue the day they sat us all down to watch it. They don't really like football - in fact, they dislike it so much they gave me my own tv set when I declared that I planned to watch all the games of the Euro 96. I wasn't impressed in 1990 but somehow it probably lay the seeds for my becoming a football fan a few years later.
