Workplace drama results in.. bagels!

Ablative_Oberth

Lieutenant Commander
So earlier this week, we has some Category-1 genuine Code Brown drama here at Plastic Hell.

People threw tantrums, names were called, someone threw a punch at the boss, and nothing got done. In fact I was so disgusted with the nonsense I told them I wasn't coming back until they got their heads right about the situation.

Last night I get a phone call:

BOSS: "Lynn, come back tomorrow. We're having problems without you."

ME: "Should have thought of that before you made those changes."

BOSS: "In hindsight, it was a bad idea. You'll never here me admit it in public but everyone was right, we're going back to the original system."

ME: "I'm not convinced. I've been here 19 years you have done more damage to this company than China has."

BOSS: "If you come back I'll bring bagels tomorrow..."

ME: "Well I'm not sure I mean this is not the --- wait, what kind of bagels?"

---

I'm sitting here in my office with an entire bag of Bregger's Parmesan bagels and a tub bacon cream-cheese.

In hindsight I should have held out for a raise, but hey, bagels! :techman:

And people claim there's no more work ethic. ;) Thanks for sharing your story and mmm, bagels!

I ate the entire bag myself, and all of the cream cheese as well.

Apparently I was supposed to share them with my staff... oops.

^ What they don't know won't hurt them. :shifty:
Anyhoo, great story!

Ah nothing spells contentment like being full of the fat and simple carbs provided by boiled dough. Your boss actually sounds okay. I have had some that would have blamed us for not being able to implement their plans.

I've been here for 19 years. This work-cell is my baby. When I tell you it can't be done it's not because I'm lazy or trying to avoid change: I've been there done that have extensive documentation to prove it and will go to bat over it.

We are running balls-out as it is, that's all we've got and there ain't no more. It is possible to hot-rod the press but that'll cost money.

Mmmm bagels... mmm

I just really don't like bagels. It's like eating chewy cardboard.
Then you've never had freshly baked egg bagels. With regular, high-fat, unflavored, un-gimmicked cream cheese.

Or lightly grilled with melted Swiss cheese.
