Working TOS Dialogue Into Everyday Situations

Nice. Cogley has some good ones. Another is "Nooooo . . . but I may be GETTING ready . . . ? Works well in response to any tiresome "are you ready" inquiries.

"Are they enemies, Captain?" "I'm not sure they're sure!" Never having used that one doesn't mean you can't use it in a text about two guys that don't get on!

Memory was jogged once again after puttering around in my backyard the other day...

I was mowing the lawn one esp. dry, hot summer many years back, and a lot of dirt got kicked up, which apparently drifted over to my neighbor's property and through his screen door. He came running out like a lunatic, screaming and waving his hands in the air and yelling "whatsamatter witchoo, all this dust coming into my house, blah blah blah...". I turned the mower off and listed to him finish ranting and raving, and responded "don't mince words, what do you really think?"

One that isn't spoken, but which I use semi-frequently in speech, is Trelane's initial written message to the Enterprise in "The Squire of Gothos": Greetings and felicitations! Hip hip hoorah, Tally ho!

Nobody knows it's a Star Trek reference, they just assume I'm a jolly chap. :D
