I want Colbert's image of Barry White and Worf as my avatar.

Thanks for the alternate links. :)

edit: My eyes are watering from laughing so hard. Classic!

Yeah I saw that and made a post on The trekXI thread, but the mod shut it down, I thought that was funny as hell lol:) I guess Ace1701A beat me to it. I couldn't find the video becouse i couldn't remember what he called the segment

Anyone else like their attention to detail? They listed his accomplishments during the freakin' Dominion War.

I love how he went the high road for how Worf acts black. I guess he could have also gone the objective route and pointed out Michael Dorn is black.

ROFLMAO!!!! :guffaw: That was EPIC!

Hopefully someone's shoved it on Youtube already so I can send it to my friends!

And that's what was most hilarious in the usual deadpan Colbert way is that he isn't treating Worf as a fictional character played by an actor, but as an actual person with a unique heritage!

He's doin' Ti-Chi....

oh dear god I think Stephen copied that Duty Roster for Worf straight from Memory Alpha, the Star Trek Wiki

Qapla!!!

You know what? I'm going to be offended.

This is absolutely tacky. No wonder people have complained about the Internet bringing out the worst in others.

If you are offended at the Colbert Nation's right to celebrate Worf's Black Chinese American-ness, then the terrorists have already won.

LMAO.

But seriously he could've just picked Tiger Woods who is about 1/4 Chinese and 1/4 Black but it wouldn't have been funny.

I thought Klingons were partly inspired by the Japanese samurai.

Definitely. Just look at their costumes, and all that vaguely bushido honour talk. The TNG-on Klingons are a mishmash of Japanese and Viking influences.

Course, the pre-TMP Klingons have really more of a Chinese/Russian vibe.

So Colbert can make a case for Worf being a Black Japanese American Samurai Viking, but Black Chinese American is pushing it. ;)

If I recall correctly, the TOS-era Klingons were supposed to represent the Soviets, while the Romulans were inspired by the Chinese. Shinzon's name in Nemesis was a nod to this. Regrettably I don't remember which book I read this in; maybe Nimoy's I Am Spock?
