WOOHOO I GOT MY HOODIE ON FRIDAY

Nomad V

Fleet Captain
Fleet Captain
Yep, I finally got my Master of Science degree. It only took 27 years after I had received my BS degree. Actually, I went from a 2.10 to a 3.80 between the two programs. Imagine that, it is amazing what paying for less than an A will do for motivation. Took the kids to see the ceremonies and stopped at a good restaurant in Pittsburgh on the way home.

Congratulations Nomad :techman:

Yay! That is really great, Nomad! Good for you sticking with it.

And it's great your kids were able to see it and cheer for you.

Congrats! :)

Congratulations Nomad!

We Trekkies have a reputation of being more dreamers than doers. Sadly, that reputation is largely earned. It's nice when one of us rises above that and sets an example for the rest of us to follow. :techman:

Woot!

Hey, better late than never, dude. Way to go!

Congratulations. It's a great feeling, isn't it?

So what's your next degree? :D

Congratulations Nomad!!! What is the degree in out of curiousity?

I have an M.S. in Environmental Engineering myself, and just started an MBA program this spring.

Is this what you plan to do with your hoodie?

Congratulations, Nomad! Great that your kids could come to your ceremony. What is your area of specialty, and where do you hope to go from here?

Getting my kids their graduate degrees will be next, unless my wife wants to finish college, then that would be the next degree. By the way, in the 2nd year grad school for my youngest child I'll be 69 years young, just in time to retire at 70.

My degree was in engineering management. I'm already working and the company paid for most of school. So, I just hope to do what I'm already doing, only better. Currently, I'm overseeing the building a remotely operated sub to pick bombs off the seafloor. I hope that we can take the system mainstream.

My BS was in earth and planetary science/geology. So we are nearly on the same career track. I had been doing environmental geology/hazwaste when I moved into unexploded ordnance (UXO) cleanup. I still deal with constituent issues. I've been doing this work since 93. As for the hoodie, it is hanging on a peg at the door, so I can look at it when I walk in the house.

I ended up going more into civil engineering - public works, land development, stuff like that - rather than the hardcore environmental side. I still want to ty it at some point though.

My hood is balled up in the attic somewhere, but in my defense, it is 5 years old at this point and not as exciting as when it was new.

Congratulations! I totally opened this thread expecting to see a picture of a fabulous new hooded sweatshirt. I'm still reeling in confusion. ;)
