Wonder Woman's Patty Jenkins is Directing a Rogue Squadron Movie

Rogue Squadron doesn't really need to be big space battles every "episode".

Although I think Wraith Squadron by Aaron Allston could work better for TV since they were more like a jack of all trades in doing ground infiltration and space based fighter stuff. Not saying Disney could just have Rogue Squadron do all that (they did do some in the books), and have it be kinda like Space Above & Beyond.

Where some eps of SAAB, had the group doing non-space fighter ops. Probably to save on budget.

Circling back to the Wraith Squadron which was heavily influenced by The Dirty Dozen taking wash-outs, misfits, etc... and the operations/schemes like the A-team (hell one of the characters was nicknamed Face).

It would be the perfect type of rag-tag group to attach Migs Mayfeld the former imperial sharpshooter from the Mandalorian, but I dunno how much time Bill Burr would want to commit to that.

Being "jack of all trades" is exactly what turned me off SAAB. You don't get to have jarhead grunts also be hotshot navy fighter pilots and visa-versa. As anyone that's spent *any* time around pilots and soldiers will tell you; those are entirely different mindsets and skillsets, to say nothing of the disparity of resource investment between elite pilots and commandos vs. frontline risk. Even from a storytelling perspective; soldiers, even elite special forces soldiers are natural underdogs. They're the ones knowingly jumping into the meat grinder. Pilots on the other hand are anything but the underdogs. The archetypes are entirely antithetical.

If you want to do a military drama that specifically focuses on ground and air/space ops, then it's both more credible and more dramatically interesting to have two separate groups of specialists that have to work together, than just the one group of unreasonably hyper-capable generalists. Also at that point you're just doing less interesting Jedi and/or Mandalorians anyway.

Regardless; I don't think they'd go that way as it would cut into whatever leftover elements from 'Rangers of the New Republic' that are getting folded into Mando season 4, assuming Adelphi will have a larger role going forwards.
If they're going to to a movie/show about X-Wing pilots, then it's going to be about X-Wing pilots. No point diluting the novelty.

^ For those of us who remember a lot of the OT & old EU - along with the old X-wing/Tie-Fighter games that came with it - this 50 minute fan film has some quality old vibes...

(and very some impressive production values, acting, cinematography, editing, and special effects - for a pro-level production... let alone for a fan film)

That was pretty good, but maybe a little long. Can't argue about the impressive look and feel, however. Top notch, at least on my small screen.

Which had more to do with the fact that it had the misfortune of being released at a time when a lot of theatres were closed across North America. You know, because of that bit of unpleasantness that we had to deal with three to four years ago.

but when I watch it on blu-ray, the script sucks, it's the same script as that movie Wishmaster, the whole movie shouldn't have anything to do w/ super hero, or Marvel, it's stupid. It's a re-run of Wishmaster. Even if all the cinema are open, I seriously doubt anyone would watch it

I was not aware thr writers were the same for this movie.

Hmm. I have this strange feeling that if I held my breath waiting for this to happen, I wouldn't make it.

So I'm not holding my breath.

I hope they actually get all the way to a finished movie this time, but I'm not going to really believe it until I at least see a trailer.

Watched 1984 again.

Kristin Wig was superb, until they turned her into a kitty cat. Did she trade Charisma for Intelegence?

"I want to be like Diana."

Instantly everyone adores her for no reason.

Is that one of Wonder Woman's superpowers?

Rohypnol BO?
