Women's World Cup

Well, congrats to the Japanese team. They kept on fighting despite being down twice. It's too bad for the US team; they had the lead twice and couldn't close it out.

Also, can someone explain the concept of a 'friendly' to me? Some MLS team played a European team last night, in the middle of the season. It's something you don't see in our sports leagues here. I can't imagine the Dodgers just playing a random 3 game series with some team in the Dominican league on a Tuesday in August.

Wasn't that the MLS All-Star team? I seem to recall hearing that they were playing Manchester United, with the theory being it's more interesting than an all-MLS ASG.

Well, I don't blame that for penalty kicks (plus, that first shot was an amazing save). But we shouldn't have given up the lead twice (three times?). Congrats to Japan. It was a good match.

Uh...the ladies soccer tourney was also FIFA sanctioned you know.

Seeing as a cricket game lasts for 5 days, and us US folks actually work during the summer, it's not a sport that would fly here so well.

Actually I haven’t any interest about Women’s World Cup but I love to watch FIFA World Cup and Cricket World Cup.

Play on, nothing to see here.

(I know, he's quite possibly one of the worst refs in recent history, but he was the only one I could find signaling "play on" without looking too hard.)

Uhhh, they've been over for weeks. And for someone from the US, it sure didn't have 'the good ending.'
